Senior Grant Accountant600 W Fulton St, Chicago, IL 60661, USA Req 280 Thursday, May 13, 2021The Senior Grant Accountant ensures financial compliance for all assigned grant funded accounts, according to specific prescribed rules and regulations and internal control requirements.
This position performs complex grant accounting functions and regulation of all grant transactions while providing accurate financial reporting, analysis, and planning feedback to end users.What You Will Do
– Top PrioritiesPerform grant-related post-award functions, including budget and expense analysis, expenditure approvals, vouchering, processing invoices of subcontractors, draw downs, accounting, and financial reporting of grant fundsPrepare monthly grant financial reports and reconcile with Operations’ Program teams and Planning and Development teamPerform grant closeout functions required by regulatory agencies including reconciliations, financial status reports, final invoices, and final reporting; review general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and complete journal entriesPrepare journal entries for irregularities found during reconciliations reviewCoordinate with Operations’ Program teams and Planning and Development team when a grant is found to be out of compliance, or a loss of revenue is noted from analysis of financial grant data; prepare recommendations to the team for changes to policy, procedure, control, or actions/changes neededMaintain accounting software (Microsoft GP) and grant structural changes as it relates to grant budget itemsPrepare schedules, reports, and support documentation for annual financial audit and/or individual auditsDevelop and recommend grant procedures and policies to support compliance and best practices; coordinate with all departments to gather input and feedbackMonitor time and efforts and attend all require grant related meetings with fundersWhat You Get:An opportunity to impact the health of our patient population and wellness in our communities
