Job Description:
The VP of Finance will oversee all budgeting, financial planning and reporting, accounting, and other finance-related administrative tasks for both the Company and Company Projects. As a member of the Company senior leadership team, the VP of Finance will work closely with the company leadership to determine and direct overall company strategy. The VP of Finance will also work closely with project level production and management teams to advise on and assist in the implementation of finance-related operational decisions (such as purchasing, vendor management, lease agreements, capital expenditures, etc.)
- Serve as financial advisor to the CEO and executive team for strategic planning purposes
- Oversee all sides of accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, and tax preparation
- Recruit, hire and train accounting, analyst, and finance professionals to support the company’s growth
- Assist CEO and management team in contract preparation, review and negotiation
- Develop appropriate tracking methods for revenue and expenses
- Be responsible for development of financial models to support the CEO and the financing and investment activities of the company
- Advise on financing options to support the company’s growth
- Lead and manage the budgeting process for the Company
- Provide oversight over the budgeting process for Company Projects and oversee accounting and bookkeeping support for the General Manager of Company Projects
- Be responsible for gathering financial data for analysis and forecasting with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance
- Coordinate the preparation of annual, quarterly and monthly reports
- Manage insurance coverage and compliance for the company
- Support operational teams with municipal permits and other filings and registrations as required to launch and support attraction engagements
- Be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of financial information to appropriate groups, including parties, government regulators and outside agencies
Ideal Qualifications:
- Thrive working in a fast-paced, quickly evolving entrepreneurial environment
- 10-15+ years hands-on experience in a financial management and operations functions in a fast-growing company, ideally in the media & entertainment space
- Problem solver with a solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the company and its stakeholders: talent, production teams, financial partners, agencies, creative team members, etc.
