Quality Inspector

Job Description:SUMMARYWill perform quality-related activities in support of Operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure compliance to product, process and systems requirements and report non-conformancesConduct failure analysis of product returns and line rejectsInitiate and close Product Non-conformance Reports (PNRs), including management of non-conforming product inventoryCreate and modify Critical to Quality (CTQ) documentsUpdate and post First Pass Yield (FPY) spreadsheets and Pareto charts, including submission of monthly reportsUnderstand and apply basic metrology techniques using hand tools, gages and fixturesPerform inspection activities on parts/components manufactured by internal and/or external suppliersInspect areas of responsibility for 5S complianceAssist in Regulatory Agency inspectionsUpdate Cell Countermeasure boards for quality-related itemsParticipate on cross-functional teams in problem solving activitiesOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSTeam playerExcellent problem solving skillsGood oral and written communicationsAble to create and modify basic procedures, spreadsheets and graphs in Microsoft Word and ExcelFlexibility to work off-shift hours, including weekendsEDUCATION and EXPERIENCEHigh School DiplomaThree years related manufacturing experience Two years as a Quality Technician or equivalentAble to apply basic metrology methodologies, including the use of hand tools, gages and fixturesKnowledge of Quality Management SystemsFamiliar with ASME Y14.5 (GD) preferredBasic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) a plusInjection molding experience a plusElectronics assembly experience a plusIPC-610 certification a plusLANGUAGE SKILLSAble to communicate effectively in the English and Spanish languages.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
