Wilshire Precision Products can trace its roots to 1951 to a small machine shop on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. Like most Southern California precision machine shops in the 1950’s, Wilshire offered its services to the burgeoning local aerospace industry. It was during these early years that Wilshire Precision established a reputation for uncompromising quality and outstanding customer service that is at the foundation of our success.

Today, Wilshire Precision is at the leading edge of the precision manufacturing industry with ongoing contracts to build complete electric motors for military and commercial applications. All manufacturing and assembly is done at our facility in North Hollywood, with strict in-process quality control and an advanced MRP system to assure that every component, large or small, meets or exceeds our customers’ requirements. Our state-of-the-art facility is NADCAP approved and certified to ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100-D and is designed around the principles of lean manufacturing to maximize efficiency and product reliability. In addition to our manufacturing services, we offer engineering consultation to help our customers design manufacturability into their products and deliver value and reliability to their customers.

Q uality Control Inspector

A s the Quality Control Inspector, you will perform quality control inspections by inspecting and testing parts during the manufacture of products including inspecting paperwork, materials, parts and products at different stages of production for defects and conformance to specifications and requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Basic Inspection Operations
    • Set-up inspection equipment
    • Inspect parts currently in production
    • Inspect operations performed by outside vendors
    • Perform 1st article inspections on both in-house and outside operations
    • Experience using a Mitutoyo CMM is required
  • Maintain inspection equipment
    • Notify supervisor of calibration approaching expiration dates
    • Monitor inspection supplies and notify supervisor of any necessary replacements or shortages
    • Verify that all inspection tooling is returned to the proper storage location
  • Secondary Responsibilities
    • Rejections and Corrective Action Requests
    • Assist quality control personnel with investigation of customer complaints regarding production procedures

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • 5 years minimum experience or comparable OJT
  • Ability to operate and read basic inspection equipment such as; micrometers, calipers, indicators, comparators, C.M.M., etc.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Inventory software, and Order processing systems
