Policy Administration Analyst II

: Responsibilities: Position SummaryA Policy System Administrators responsibility is to understand the application system and assist the business with ensuring the systems configuration is up-to-date and functioning properly.Underwriting guidelines and agreements change regularly in the insurance industry.

This position requires the ability to understand and analyze those changes and update the applications configuration to accommodate those changes and communicate those changes to stakeholders and users.ANALYSIS:Gathering, Translating, and Documenting Business RequirementsCollect and organize requirements from Compliance, Operations, and other persons or departments responsible for complianceAnalyse the changes for impact to the system, users, and all interested stakeholdersCapture requirements in Jira, schedule reviews for those requirements for accuracy and thoroughnessDocument how the changes will or will not affect standard reports, existing integrations, and documentation.Participates in design reviews to discover impacts to business requirements.Provides assistance on business and functional requirements to Development and QA personnel.DESIGN:Participates in Logical and/or Physical Design of SystemsIdentify required changes to the system and which departments may be required to assist with those changes.Identify affected users and prepare communications to them about upcoming changes and implementation dates.TESTING and TRAINING:Ensure Quality Technology DeliverablesDevelops contextual test plans, cases, and scripts in support of functional, performance, system integration, regression or user acceptance testing.Documents test results and logs defects / observations into software tracking systemExecute Quality Assurance (QA) scripts or collaborates with QA team as required, dependent on size/scope of change and resource availability.Trains business or technical resources on new system functionality if necessary.TROUBLESHOOTING:Debug and Triage Systems Utilizing Technical SkillsReview, analyze, and troubleshoot all facets of the system including rating, forms, products and product eligibility.Respond to escalated service desk tickets.

Qualifications: Business SkillsProcess Mapping.Requirements gathering and analysis.Translating requirements into technical specificationsExcellent oral and written communication skills with ability to explain technology in business terms.Can work independently with little supervision with business to define concepts with directions on how they can be achieved.Insurance Industry ExperienceProperty and casualty insuranceExcess and surplus lines preferred by not requiredInsurance agreements/contracts, underwriting guidelines, taxes, and feesTechnical SkillsSQLWord, Excel, OutlookWeb browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.)Preferred but not requiredVlocity/SalesforcePostman/SoapUI or similar API-testing toolEducationBachelors degree in business administration, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.Experience3-5 years administering a business system.
