Construction Accountant

Our client an established real estate company is looking to add an experienced Construction Accountant will be responsible for the accounting, tracking and reporting of all construction related projects. . Our client owns and/or manages a portfolio of over 80 shopping centers representing over 1,500 tenants and 10,000,000 square feet throughout several states. The Companies growth has often landed it on the ‘Fastest Growing Private Company’ lists by providing quality retailers and supporting their success to help them thrive despite the changing retail climate.What they offer:Fastest growing private companies in Los AngelesStable company with a positive reputationGrowing company with room for upward growth & promotionStrong team with great tenureGreat benefits including 100% covered benefit plan optionsResponsibilities: Assist with the budgeting process, recording contracts, recording and tracking change orders.Explain variances and assist accounts payable in paying construction draws and invoices and record payments to track against the budget.Record contracts as they are received into the construction log and communicate significant variances to budgetRecord change orders and tracking the change orders noting reasons for the changesRecord payments, track percent completeEnsure all invoices are processed on a timely basis and that the approvals have been obtained.Responsible for maintaining cost analysis and providing reports by project to the VP of Construction and DevelopmentReview pay applications for accurate compliance to contracts and coding. Track and process lien releases.Verify amounts being paid are in accordance with the contract and in line with percentage of completionQUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 3 + years of experienceProficient in Excel and Microsoft WordExperience in MRI or Yardi a plusFor immediate consideration please email resume to: Jgoodman@cfs-la.com
