We are a growing SEC-registered investment firm based in Cleveland, OH managing a hedge fund and private equity strategy focused on the banking sector.
Our firm is looking to add a talented Investment Operations Associate to the team.
This role will be an important part of a small team and will have lots of room for professional growth and development.
General Description: The Investment Operations Associates will work directly with the Head of Investment Operations and Controller on all operational aspects of the firm.
Duties: Work closely with the Head of Operations to support the operational functions of the firm.
Support the treasury management activities for cash balances, deal fundings, investor capital calls, and distributions.
Work with the Controller on accounting duties for the General Partner, including preparing quarterly financial statements using Quickbooks and paying vendors.
Work with Controller and fund administrators to ensure timely and accurate financial statements for the funds.
Work with our outside tax firm to ensure timely and accurate K-1’s.
Support the annual audit with our outside audit firm.
Work with the Controller to review and monitor fund expenses, accruals, payments, reimbursements, and management fees.
Liaise with external vendors (prime brokerage, trading, IT, custody, audit, etc.) Work with the Head of Operations to monitor and manage the firm’s required regulatory filings (SEC, FINRA, 13f, 13d, Form ADV, Blue Sky, etc.) Other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience: Ideal candidate has 2-10 years of relevant professional experience and strong understanding of accounting principles.
Candidates must have: Relevant professional experience preferably with an investment firm, fund administrator, or related public accounting experience.
Undergraduate degree.
Accounting/Finance/Business preferred.
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and comfort with Excel.
CPA or progress towards CPA is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must be able to meet time-sensitive deadlines without sacrificing accuracy of work.
