Test Engineer

Position Overview

This position will provide comprehensive test engineering support to Director Engineering and other site leadership team members. You will be responsible for the design and test of our industry-leading heavy-duty voltage battery systems.

About the Role – You will:

  • Execute characterization, verification, validation, durability and safety tests on early product prototypes.
  • Provide clear and concise documentation related to tests, including reports on parts under test and their status.
  • Capture identified failures in detail and work with engineering to facilitate resolution.
  • Assist in the failure analysis process by providing detailed information surrounding failures in test articles.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues with test equipment.
  • Prioritize and complete tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Provide design input to improve product reliability when necessary.
  • Interact with a wide variety of individuals and teams to communicate results.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

  • You will report to the Director of Engineering and collaborate with other Engineering team members located at our headquarters in Los Angles, CA and manufacturing facilities as required.

Your Experience Includes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering fields or equivalent relevant experience
  • 2+ years experience
  • Experience with LabVIEW, data acquisition systems, digital and analog interfaces for PCs, test systems, etc.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as python, MATLAB, C, etc.
  • Experience in an R&D testing environment.
  • Experience with test instrumentation (i.e., temperature, flow, pressure, low voltage analog)
  • Experience in supporting Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT)
  • Experience in electrical and electronic circuit components
  • Experience with thermal systems and heat transfer
  • Experience with mechanical and structural testing
  • Familiarity with the high voltage products, automotive CAN communication networks, and Requirements Management Systems (JAMA)
  • Experience with completing tests and resolve problems in an unattended manner.
  • Experience maintaining test equipment (i.e., Vibration Table, Thermal Chambers)
  • Experience designing test fixtures as required
