Job Description

Education & Experience:

This role requires technical skills common to civil engineers, landscape architects, and site contractors. The role requires resolving conflicts with proposed site improvements and existing real estate constraints for the purpose of significantly improving site operations. Ideal candidates have experience using technical skills to propose, develop, and construct creative solutions by “thinking outside the box”, negotiating “win-win” solutions, and converting a “no” answer into a “yes, with conditions.”

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define the scope of work
  • Establish preliminary budget for defined scope of work
  • Partner with regional team to review, recommend, approve, and prioritize projects
  • Communicate approved design intent and project updates to operator & internal stakeholders
  • Select, engage, and direct external design partners during due diligence, design, & permitting
  • Review due diligence surveys, reports, and recommendations and adapt design accordingly
  • Establish communication cadence with operator/stakeholders to maintain trust and transparency
  • Partner with legal and real estate team to order, review, and interpret real estate documents
  • Partner with property management to identify and navigate existing landlord or 3rd party issues
  • Lead efforts to secure landlord, 3rd party, and jurisdictional approvals
  • Represent CFA, Inc. at public hearings or municipal meetings as determined by the project team
  • Calibrate project budget at key design milestones; update and reallocate regional budget
  • Collaborate with design partners and construction manager to identify cost saving solutions (VE)
  • Participate in regular design development meetings/calls with project consultant team
  • Identify, qualify, and onboard regional design partners and influence selection of site contractors

Key Proficiencies:

  • Communicate to project stakeholders the “why” that is the reason for the project
  • Analyze surrounding context for feasibility of on-site and off-site solutions
  • Resolve conflicts with vehicular and pedestrian circulation
  • Resolve conflicts with utilities and proposed site improvements
  • Resolve inefficiencies with existing site improvements and site operations
  • Resolve proposed non-conformities with zoning codes and development standards
  • Interpret technical plans, specifications, and construction details
  • Prioritize program elements in response to real estate, budget, and schedule limitations
  • Steward project resources (including real estate) to achieve a high return on investment

Estimated compensation for this position is:

110,000.00 – 120,000.00 USD

The pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable. The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
