Summary

Well-established consumer goods brand in LA is seeking a Director of Global Logistics & Supply Chain to join their growing operations team.

This role requires strong supply chain acumen, logistics, and transportation experience.

Client Details

A proven track record of achievement in total cost reduction to manage and develop all strategic and tactical aspects of our warehousing and in-house logistics facility.

Ability to evaluate and onboarding current and potential 3PLs, and all transportation partners.

This role will be responsible for overseeing and nurturing relationships with key suppliers (domestic and International affiliates), CMO’s and vendors on a weekly/monthly/annual basis to ensure business needs are being met.

Description
As the brand launches their products into different regions around the world, this position will be responsible for setting up the correct and lawful distribution channels for each of those regions.

Success in this role requires strong leader acumen, great analytical skills, a bias for data-driven process, with a flexibility for rapid change and growth.

Manage, grow, and optimize brand’s logistics team, warehouse facility, and 3PLs; including building a more flexible and cost-efficient warehousing strategy for scale both domestically and internationally Analyze existing processes and propose improvements and new methods to control costs Calculate variances from the budget and report significant variances to the business with root cause analysis for gap bridge Manages 3PL providers and works with warehouse leadership to analyze trends, implement new technologies and drive overall performance to maximize on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, reduce costs, compress lead times, improve efficiencies and implement corrective actions to resolve any issues Ensure 3PL and transportation provider service level and pricing agreements are met through monthly KPIs and quarterly business reviews Partner with the Supply Chain team to monitor inventory levels in each facility Keep current on industry trends, technology, and market offerings, understanding impacts on and opportunities for Logistics and Distribution network
Profile
Bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline with a minimum of 10 years supply chain/operations leadership experience OR 12 years of equivalent supply chain/operations experience.

Experience with transportation carrier and 3PL contract negotiation including RFP development, evaluation, and contract execution including pricing Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain systems and procedures Knowledge of DTC/E-Commerce operations and best practices Domestic & International shipping practices, experience working with brokers, freight forwarders, drayage/truckers, import/export volumes including experience negotiating FF agreements / RFP’s and carrier agreements Experience working with ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) Knowledge of natural products, botanicals, or fine chemicals a plus
