Quality Assurance Manager

Adecco is assisting a West LA-based company with an immediate, long-term, temp-to-hire need for a Quality Assurance Manager. Pay rate is $25/hr. Working hours 7 am to 3:30 pm M-F.
NOT a remote position.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the general supervision of the Operations Director, the Quality Manager provides leadership at the plant for the development, implementation, and administration of the Quality function to ensure product safety, integrity, and conformance with respect to customer, Divisional, Corporate and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains customer quality satisfaction through the implementation and use of programs to control raw materials, in-process materials, production process, environmental conditions & finished products
  • Executes plans for continuous improvement for operations.
  • Prepares and oversees customer site visits and audits.
  • Utilizes High-Performance System (HPS) to empower and develop teams using established HPS systems, core beliefs, guiding principles, and attributes.
  • Performs evaluations and creates development/training plans for individuals within the team and manages employee relations.
  • Actively uses Individual Development Plans (IDPs) to document and facilitate improvement/recognition discussions.
  • Interacts with other division Quality Managers & Directors.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, FDA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or another relevant technical field
  • Minimum 7 years of Quality leadership experience in a manufacturing plant(s)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the food, beverage, flavor, and/or ingredient manufacturing industry
  • Extensive knowledge of HACCP, Auditing, SSOPs, GMP’s, FDA, OSHA, Quality Systems, and Plant Sanitation
  • Demonstrated significant and relevant skills and consistent results as a leader in Quality
  • Strong cross-functional strategic leadership experience, communication and teamwork skills with demonstrated success in managing people and multiple projects
  • Detailed understanding of how all areas of a manufacturing plant and warehouse interact to contribute to the business and meet customers’ expectations
  • Strong communication and diplomacy skills to guide and influence others
  • Basic commercial awareness as it relates to competition and the latest developments in the industry
