Job Description
Food Service Workers prepare, produce, heat, cook, and serve a variety of foods from fresh, canned, dry, or frozen states according to recipes, and assist in other related tasks in a designated food service production and/or service area. They perform cleaning and sanitizing duties according to HACCP, LA County Health Department, and LAUSD Food Services Standard Operating Procedures.
Job Duties
- Preparing and producing a variety of foods
- Setting up and merchandising food and food service areas, and serving food
- Operating kitchen equipment and utilizing kitchenware
- Practicing safe food handling procedures
- Cleaning and sanitizing, mopping, and disposing of waste according to the Food Services Operating Procedures, OSHA, the State, and L.A. County Health Department procedures
- Assisting in taking inventory
- Assisting in preparing sales, production, and other reports
- Accepting and counting money, tickets, or cards for redemption of foods and beverages
**Food Service Workers work 4-6.5 hours per day**
