The Program Coordinator will be an employee of Harbor Freight Tools, which will donate the Program Coordinator’s services to the foundation.The Program Coordinator is a pivotal member of a small, entrepreneurial team, contributing to idea generation, strategic thinking, and the foundation’s core operations.

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for anchoring key administrative functions that support the foundation’s grantmaking and grants processing, and a wide variety of convening, due diligence and outreach functions undertaken by program staff.The Program Coordinator will also support the development of in-depth knowledge of the skilled trades education ecosystem and support for the foundation’s flagship program, Harbor Freight Tools for Schools, and its priorities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnchors administrative functions of The Smidt Foundation program team, coordinating a wide variety of supportive tasksArranges and supports team-related meetings, logistics, and follow-up as well as convenings with a wide variety of external partners, advisors and community organization leadersBuilds and maintains database of like-minded funders and other entitiesAssists program, legal and finance teams in the careful operation of the grant making process.Conducts research in fields and topics of interest to the foundationPrepares written reports, analyses and a variety of communication’s pieces including meeting agendas, digital content, meeting summaries, etc.Participates actively in teamwork in support of Harbor Freight Tools for SchoolsPrepares expense and travel reportsMaintains digital files in exceptional order related to grantees and foundation initiativesRepresents the foundation at a select number of programs related to grantmaking, philanthropic excellence and in fields of interest to the foundationStays abreast of current developments in the fields of interest and in philanthropic trends and opportunities for collaborationPerforms other duties as assigned#HFTCORPRequirementsEducation (Required)Bachelor’s degree requiredSkills (Required)Written Communications: Writes succinctly in a variety of communication formats.
