Zone Manager

Job Summary:

The Standard Motor Products Zone Manager position is responsible for training, developing, and directing a sales team of Territory Managers.  The Zone Manager will develop relationships with the customer’s sales leadership teams, local store personnel, and the District Managers throughout the territory.  The role will help develop and facilitate ongoing sales programs and initiatives throughout the year.  

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the sales team and perform administrative duties each week
  • Approve expense reports through Certify each week
  • Approve vacation requests through the SMP Sales Force website
  • CRM sales call and store visit compliance each week
  • Weekly communication with your Territory Managers and conduct monthly team meetings
  • Consistent communication with your SMP National Sales Manager
  • Plan to work with your Zone team throughout the year in select territories to assess performance
  • Develop strategies using analytics to grow product category sales on store visits and on sales calls
  • Plan and schedule store visits to your assigned Zone Manager territory of stores each week and plan sales calls within the territory each week
  • Develop strong relationships within customer base at all levels of leadership
  • Consistent follow through training of our SMP Diesel Warranty program at all customer levels
  • Plan for the SMP Real World Training PTS Clinics scheduled for your territories by utilizing our SMP RWT Best Practices

Job Requirements:

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with customer sales teams and sales leadership positions
  • Automotive industry knowledge
  • Self-motivated and strong ability to plan 30, 60, to 90 days out on the calendar
  • Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Expense management software, and knowledge of CRM systems
  • Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and GoTo Meeting
  • Sales presentation skills in a one on one setting and large group meetings
