Overview
The Vice President-Market Access will be responsible for the development and maintenance of product coverage in assigned accounts within the commercial, government and other reimbursement market segments.

The position will function as the primary liaison between the company and commercial and government payers.

The position is responsible for creating and maintaining the broadest possible access and coverage for assigned payer segments, in line with the company’s annual financial plan.

This will be achieved by educating payers on the products, relevant health policy changes and successful contract negotiations.

This role will co-create the message platform for the company’s value proposition to all payers and includes positioning relative to alternatives.

The VP, Market Access will work with National Account Team and cross functional colleagues to resolve coverage and reimbursement challenges across the company portfolio.

The person in this role will address Market Access related questions, create strategy, deploy tactics, and will lead a team of Payer National Accounts Directors.
Principle Responsibilities And Duties
Responsible and accountable for the successful implementation of the Market Access strategic and tactical plan Collaborate with internal and external colleagues to ensure optimal access across multiple payer segments Co-develop access strategy for the company’s immune-oncology portfolio Provide “real world” data from assigned accounts that will impact coverage decisions for future products Lead, coach and develop a team of Payer National Account Directors who are the “single point of contact” for their respective Sales Management and sales representative teams about coverage updates: National and Regional Health Plans (Commercial, Medicare Part D, and/or Managed Medicaid segment), Medicaid and clinical pathway updates Collaborate with the Patient Services HUB to ensure any potential access issues or opportunities are triaged and resolved quickly and efficiently Proactively identify potential marketplace trends/barriers Reactively respond to any identified reimbursement, coverage issues and market access challenges Establishes and maintains key relationships with KOLs, State Oncology Societies and Advocacy Groups Nationally
Experience, Education, Training, Traits
BS/BA degree required Minimum of 12+ year’s pharmaceutical/biotech experience (Managed Markets, Sales, Brand Marketing, etc.) Pharmaceutical/biotech launch experience required Prior oncology, immunology or ophthalmology experience is preferred Buy and Bill Injectable experience required Outstanding customer relationship, interpersonal, and communication skills with the established ability to effectively work with diverse audiences and influence cross functionally Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to effectively analyze data to determine trends and inform strategy Proven ability to work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams Comfortable managing multiple projects and delivering strong results High interest in working in the “roll up the sleeves” environment of a small biotechnology company, without the resources of larger companies Effective presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills Must have the ability to travel
