Vice President

As a core member of the HR team in the Electrification Installation Products, you will be partner with business leaders in the US and Mexico Region to develop and drive talent outcomes and implement people strategies.

Counsel and coach business leaders on organization issues and advise on solutions; Represent business needs and provide continuous improvement feedback in interface with HR Centers of Expertise (CoE) and Global Business Services (GBS).

Reporting to the Global HR Leader – Installation Products, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR leadership and support to the region leadership team, With 4,000 employees in our US & Mexico (MX) Region and 9 key plants/locations, it represents the largest piece of the Installation Products portfolio ($1.2B).

Your responsibilities This is a hands-on position, requiring a sense of urgency, accuracy and attention to detail.

A “can-do” attitude is a must to be successful in this role.

Interface in an influential and collaborative manner within the BU and Electrification division to champion the needs of the region to the CoEs and Global Business Services (GBS) to ensure the region receives the level of support and quality of service needed.

Interpret HR data to understand key trends and issues and define and execute appropriate actions.

Build and drive a culture of accountability and high performance coupled with one of appreciation and recognition throughout the region and all locations.

Collaborate with Talent & Learning partners to design and deliver developmental activities to strengthen supervisory and leadership capabilities in the organization.

Establish and drive true partnership with Talent Acquisition and contracting agencies to ensure the most efficient and compliant staffing processes leading to the attraction and hiring of top talent.

Identify best in class Human Resources (HR) and people practices and drive consistency across all region locations.

Be a leader who can easily multi-task and carry out large scale, complex projects both independently and collaboratively.

This role needs a fast learner with a tireless passion to solve, to fix, to execute and deliver results of the highest caliber.

Ability to assess and attract talent to build and manage world class teams.

Your background Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a similar function and minimum of 12 years of progressive management experience as Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP).

Have deep expertise in positive employee relations that builds strong employee engagement.

Are passionate about performance management, continually raising the bar on what it takes to meet expectations.

Have experience succession planning all multiple levels in an organization.

Know how to lead teams via collaboration and influence vs.

positional authority.

Have excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.

Experience working and leading teams across multiple site locations.

Enjoy leading, managing, coaching and developing HR teams.

Skills – More than proficient with Power Point, Word, Excel.

Knowledge and experience working with US labor and employment law.

Ability to handle ambiguous and diverse responsibilities and be able to adapt to a variety of human resource issues at both a site, local business unit, and country level.

High comfort level in leading change in a fast-paced environment and ability to meet multiple deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal, coaching, influencing, and communication skills.

Equally comfortable and relatable on the plant floor and in executive meetings.

30% domestic travel required.

Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in United States.
