Arch Re Facs Underwriting Directors are members of a team spanning the United States, Canada and Europe focused on developing strong, mutually-beneficial business relationships with primary insurance company underwriters. This position with require some domestic travel, approximately 20%.
Job Responsibilities The Underwriting Directors are responsible for developing client relationships and submission flow, as well as underwriting and negotiating the transactions.
Required Skills/Experience 10+ years property insurer or reinsurer underwriting experience
Desired Skills/Experience Proven ability to work as part of a team
Demonstrated customer-service focus coupled with strong negotiation skills
Strong Underwriting Acumen including an understanding of property coverage, risk hazards and policy forms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Sound Computer/Technology skills
Desire for continued learning
Education Bachelors degree (ideally with a degree/major in Economics, Business, Finance, or Accounting) or equivalent training required
Additional industry-specific study and designations (such as CPCU, ARe) a plus
