We are currently seeking a Manager/Senior Manager for our Thermal Sciences Practice in Los Angeles, CA.

In this role, you will be responsible for origin and cause investigation of wildland fires as well as wildland fire modellng and risk assessment.

You must have a strong technical background in wildland fire behavior, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and combustion.

Career growth will involve increasing project management duties and substantial responsibility for generating revenue and client relations as well as hiring technical staff.

You will be responsible for: 

  • Wildland fire origin and cause investigations
  • Wildland fire behavior modeling
  • Wildland fire risk assessment
  • Field inspections and laboratory evidence exams
  • Planning and executing experimental test programs
  • Reviewing relevant codes and standards
  • Preparing proposals and technical reports, and presenting findings to clients

You will have the following skills and qualifications: 

  • Ph.D.

    in Mechanical, Chemical or Fire Protection Engineering, or related field

  • Strong technical background in wildland fire behavior, ignition, and spread
  • Completion of FI-210 Wildland Fire Origin and Cause Determination course preferred
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Hands-on experience in executing experimental programs
  • Desire and ability to tackle a wide variety of problems within and outside direct areas of expertise
