Job Description

SKECHERS is looking for a Tax Manager to oversee the company’s tax provision process and US federal and state income tax compliance.
Manage the company’s quarterly and annual tax provision process Maintain and update tax provision mapping in OneSource Tax provision software Review calculations of book tax differences used in tax provision and tax compliance Coordinate filing of Federal and State tax returns with outside preparers

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:
Broad-based Corporate tax and accounting experience, including experience addressing US compliance and reporting issues related to the completion of a large complex US corporate income tax return Broad understanding and ability to apply concepts of US GAAP, ASC 740, and SOX controls and procedures Understanding of common US tax adjustments and the calculation of deferred tax assets and liabilities Experience working with OneSource tax provision software and an understanding of its requirements Ability to review and supervise the work of senior tax staff preparing tax return workpapers Understanding of principles of state income tax adjustments and apportionment Ability to manage recurring work of outside consultants including R&D documentation and Method Changes Familiarity with transfer pricing concepts and US federal reporting requirements for international operations Willingness to support team members managing external tax audits in response to information requests Ability to recognize tax issues, planning opportunities, and implications of new tax law Basic bookkeeping skills including the ability to understand and prepare journal entries Ability to effectively communicate with department heads, external service providers, and management Familiarity with ERP accounting software (ideally PeopleSoft) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Must be hard-working, a self-starter, performance-oriented and able to meet the demands of a diverse business environment in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner

Must possess excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills

Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task

Education and Experience- 
Minimum of 5 years experience working in tax BA/BS in Accounting or equivalent, CPA preferred ASC 740 accounting for income taxes knowledge and experience Experience in preparing tax provisions for a multi-national company Experience in preparing and reviewing federal and state tax return workpapers Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
