Tax Manager

Our client, a publicly traded and vertically integrated global real estate investment and services company with over $10 billion in assets under management, has engaged us to bring them a Tax Manager.

We have placed the entire Tax Department of this company including the Vice President of Tax.

Founded over 40 years ago, they have owned and operated real estate related investments around the world.

The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

This position is within the Finance team and will report directly to Vice President of Tax and Senior Tax Manager, with significant interaction throughout the company.

The candidate will be a key contributor to many departmental goals and objectives and is responsible for multiple projects including:

Preparation of U.S.

tax provision in accordance with ASC 740..

Preparation of quarterly tax provision memorandums to document tax technical positions and key results.

Preparation of tie out package to support Form 10Q/10K tax disclosures Ensure the Company is in compliance with federal, state, city and foreign tax laws and regulations.

This person will be asked to communicate effectively with all management teams including C-Suite level executives and stay current with corporate tax best practices and changing tax laws.

Responsibilities

Prepare quarterly U.S.

income tax provision calculation for multiple entities (including work papers preparation, rate reconciliations, DTA’s/DTL proof, valuation allowance assessments, tax account rollforward, etc.) in accordance with ASC 740 and FIN 48.

Provide support to VP of Tax and Senior Tax Manager in preparation of foreign and worldwide tax provision calculations.

Prepare earnings and profit adjustments for key U.S.

and foreign controlled corporations and foreign partnerships.

Review and manage U.S.

domestic and U.S.

international tax compliance prepared by external tax service providers.

Provide support to finance and treasury department regarding non-income tax matters such as business personal property tax, business tax license renewals, etc.

Conduct tax research and work on projects to minimize tax burden and reduce the Company’s effective tax rate and cash taxes.

Provide support to VP of Tax and Senior Tax Manager on ad-hoc analysis of technical tax issues, including real estate transaction reviews, internal corporate restructurings, and other transactions.

Required Skills and Experience
Must have at least 4
– 6 years of experience with Big 4 (or equivalent) with strong U.S.

corporate tax experience including preparation and review of U.S.

tax provisions and/or tax returns.

U.S.

international tax and statutory tax knowledge is a big plus.

Exposure to real estate industry, and/or partnership tax experience is welcomed but not required.

Must have very good leadership, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

Must have excellent Excel spreadsheets skills.

Must be organized and have strong project management skills Must be able to work independently and be a team player.

Proven experience working in a team under pressure to meet deadlines.
