Tax Manager

Our client located in Atlanta is seeking a Tax Manager.

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience preparing/reviewing income tax returns.

A CPA is preferred along with experience within Financial Services or Insurance.

The position will consist of responsibilities for tax, statistical and census filings along with special projects.

The Tax Manager will lead a team of two, and will report to the Director of Financial Reporting.

105-115K Base up to 20% bonus and full benefits package.

Job Requirements: Responsibilities: Manage the insurance premium tax prepayment process and the insurance premium tax return filing process Lead the income tax estimated payment process and the preparation of federal and state income tax returns and the supporting workpapers Prepare and record current and deferred income tax provisions and provide income tax footnote disclosures on a quarterly basis for statutory reporting Provide current and deferred tax provisions, tax forecasts and other tax schedules as requested by the Companies Group Tax team Manage municipal tax returns, surcharge tax reports, excise tax, sales tax and miscellaneous tax requests Manage the statistical data reporting and reconciliation process Manage the preparation and filing of reports required by the US Department of Commerce and the US Census Bureau Implement and maintain internal controls in your areas of responsibility and ensure processes are properly documented Manage tax projects and supervise services provided by external vendors Liaise with colleagues, third party advisors, external auditors, and tax authorities on tax provision, compliance, planning and other issues Develop direct reports and supervise the performance of their day-to-day activities Assist with other ad hoc requests within the Financial Reporting team Qualifications BS/BA in Accounting required, Master’s degree in Taxation a plus CPA preferred, experience in financial services or insurance a plus 5-7 plus years of experience in preparing/reviewing income tax returns required Extensive technical and practical knowledge of corporate tax and tax accounting required Must be detail and results-oriented with a high degree of accuracy Excellent organization and follow-up skills including ability to handle competing priorities and meet all commitments Excellent written and verbal communications skills Possess strong technical computer proficiency including skills in Microsoft Office suites and tax software People managing experience required, with corporate culture awareness and leadership qualities in the specialized area
