Survivor Leadership Program Manager

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Survivor Leadership Program Manager position is a full-time exempt position under the Empowerment Department that reports to the Associate Director of Survivor Advocacy.

The Survivor Leadership Program Manager is responsible for the management of the Survivor Leadership Programs, including the National Survivor Network and Resilient Voices (Los Angeles Survivor Network) and the supervision of the Survivor Leadership Program Coordinator.

This position requires thorough knowledge and understanding of a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, human rights, strengths-based approach in working with survivors of human trafficking.

CAST is searching for a candidate who can continue our commitment to the public health model of anti-trafficking work.

We envision a leader who can prioritize multi-disciplinary collaboration and center the voices of survivors in this movement.

The position is based in Los Angeles but remote work can be accommodated with occasional paid travel to Los Angeles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Program Management/Development
Manage the Survivor Leadership Programs, and work closely with the SurvivorLeadership Team on strategic development for the overall Survivor Leadership Programs; Lead regular Survivor Leadership Team meetings; Travel to participate in national conferences, advocacy initiatives and trainings; Serve as a presenter, trainer, panelist, moderator, keynote speaker, etc.

at strategic public advocacy events as a survivor expert; Serve as lived experience expert to improve CAST’s programs and services; Assist in completing goals and objectives for the Survivor Leadership Programs, including grant deliverables, strategic planning activities, and other related tasks.

Develop program documents that assist in leading the Survivor Leadership programs into the forefront of the anti-trafficking movement Develop specifics metrics to measure outcomes and impact, and implement and oversee ongoing evaluation and feedback loops.

Engage in Program Design/Development in response to ongoing evaluation and client feedback; Supervise survivor leadership staff and volunteers, including providing ongoing training, support, and evaluation; Recruit, interview, hire, and train survivor leadership staff and volunteers; Oversee all data capture for the survivor leadership staff; Manage volunteers and interns; Design, plan, organize, and conduct LASN meetings, trainings, and events; Lead the completion of deliverables and goals of the program; Prepare the agenda, logistics, notes, and track attendance at LASN meetings; Lead the development and implementation of a strategic plan for LASN; Provide support and mentorship to the leaders within the LASN; Provide overall guidance and leadership to the NSN; Design plan, coordinate, and conduct NSN meetings, training, and events, to meet deliverables and goals of the program; Develop and implement a strategic plan for the NSN; Assist in the development of governance, policies, and procedures for the NSN; Provide support, guidance, and accountability to NSN Leadership, including but not limited to the Executive Committee members; Lead capacity building, monitoring, and evaluation, and collection of metrics for NSN activities Assist in managing conflicts within the NSN.

Other Duties: Perform other duties in line with Empowerment Program and/or CAST goals
REQUIREMENTS
1.

Survivor of Human Trafficking;
2.

Experience in program coordination/management; Prior experience in local/state/federal policy work and training curriculum development a plus;
3.Demonstrated leadership and experience in survivor leadership programs, networks, orin the community;
4.Prior experience supervising a plus;
5.

Demonstrated sensitivity to and knowledge of issues involved in working with diverse populations and organizations;
6.Possesses knowledge of common responses to trauma and trauma-informed care;
7.

Ability to work independently and able to meet deadlines;
8.

Experience in working on multi-disciplinary teams;
9.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including facilitation and conflict resolution;
10.Ability to operate computer systems, including Internet, email, databases, and word processing software (Microsoft Office Suite).

11.Organized, detailed, flexible, and able to multi-task to identify and respond to shifting priorities;
12.

Ability to work effectively with a team and ability to work through conflict;

1 3.Ability to maintain a cooperative and professional demeanor with clients, CAST staff, agency staff/board, vendors, consultants, allied professionals, donors, and members of the public;

Accept and abide by the mission and philosophy of CAST;

15.Availability to travel nationally or internationally including evenings and weekends as requested
