Supervisor, Legal Affairs

Job Summary:The legal affairs administrative group within the Disney Television Studios legal affairs department provides support to the legal teams working within ABC Signature Studios (“ABCS”) and 20th TV.

They also provide support to the business affairs teams working in conjunction with those teams.

The group creates electronic and physical files for the documents generated by the Legal and BA teams and is responsible for filing the documents in either electronic libraries or physical files.

They also are responsible for sending files to off-site storage and retrieving those files when necessary.

Certain team members are tasked with being superusers of the eDocs and NetDocs database systems and also drafting some types of talent agreements and facilitating the necessary paperwork for the studios’ production tax incentives.Responsibilities:Accomplishes department objectives by supervising staff and monitoring processes;Assesses workflow and makes recommended changes in procedures and to improve efficiency & equality of work volume within the group;Ensures staff understands their respective functions and duties;Assigns tasks and projects to file group team members;Manages file rooms for both the 20th TV and ABC Signature BA & Legal Departments, including the various processes implemented for each;Directs coordinators in electronic filing, storing and retrieving documents and files;Manage the day-to-day inputting of data into the ABCS RFID database, monitor the status of files checked out to Legal and BA department staff members, files electronic documents into eDocs or NetDocs; files necessary paper documents into talent and project files in the fileroom;Arranges for files to be sent to off site storage and also arranges for the retrieval of files from storage when necessary;Holds regular staff meetings;Monitors employee productivity and provides feedback, constructive when necessary;Prepares and submits performance reviews;Acts as RIM coordinator for the legal affairs group and follows company policy with respect to file storage;Superuser for eDocs & NetDocs;Updates Legal Department Procedures Guide;Participates in hiring process and trains new employees;Assists with the assembly of ABC Network’s annual pilots/series book.Basic Qualifications:Minimum 3 years prior supervisory experienceGeneral understanding of television production and familiarity with talent agreementsAbility to analyze and resolve issuesStrong advisory & supervisory skillsAbility to pivot and easily adapt to changeWorks independentlyAbility to work under contraints and deadlinesGood organizational skills and attention to detailProficient in MS Office applications (including Word, Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint), RFID or similar database system, eDocs, NetDocs & SAPRequired EducationBachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or universityAdditional Information:CORP_MEDIA
