Supervisor Inventory Purchasing – Remote

The Inventory Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for analyzing the current buying systems and creating the best methods for day-to-day purchasing operations. The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for establishing Inventory Analyst’s goals that comply with the company’s plan and vision. Sets career objectives for each associate who directly reports to them. Additional responsibilities consist of interviewing potential candidates, training employees, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, and resolving problems as they arise

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help supervise the inventory department to accomplish its goals and objectives
  • Works to support other departments within the company to accomplish company goals
  • Manages the workflow of their employees by creating schedules and delegating work
  • Interacts and communicates with all levels within the company to achieve goals and resolve issues
  • Writes, establishes, and makes recommendations for changes in processes and procedures
  • Coordinates team projects
  • Establishes themselves as a leader with proven skills and abilities
  • Ensures employees follow instructions and procedures and escalate any issues impacting performance, quality of work etc.
  • Ensure high-value items are taken care of and protected according to company needs

  • Computer skills and knowledge of tools required to perform essential duties

Requirements :

Education (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degrees in finance, logistics, supply chain or business management equivalent experience preferred.

Experience (Required):

  • 5 years of experience with Inventory and Purchasing.
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills sufficient to use Microsoft office suite applications and perform data analysis (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other software programs to generate business reports, perform statistical calculations, inventory orders, maintain calendars, communicate by email, and create/facilitate business presentations/proposals).
  • Experience using Excel and Access to maintain and manipulate spreadsheets, database files/lists and prepare special reports. Including but not limited to: formulas, pivot tables and pie charts/graphs.
  • ERP systems experience preferred
  • 3 + years Knowledge and experience using Business Intelligence tools (preferably tableau or power BI) preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in inventory management, order fulfillment, or any supply chain related field.
  • 3+ years experience either in a Senior, Lead, or Supervisory role with the authority to direct workflow, assign tasks, train, and evaluate associate performance.

Skills (Preferred/Desired):

  • Level of language needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Level of mathematical skills needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Level of reasoning skills needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $72,900 $109,300 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our companys 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
