Job Title : Superintendent/Asst.

Superintendent

Job Location : City Los Angeles

Reports To : Owner

Compensation: $48,000-75,000 (depending on experience)

Position Overview:

Schon Tepler Group, Inc is a vertically integrated full-service real estate investment, development, construction, and management firm currently focused on development of ground up construction of multi-family properties.

We have an opening for a Superintendent position, a job that entails the oversight of work performed by various work crews and subcontractors.

The Superintendent collaborates with others to address issues of jobsite safety, constructability, and performance to the established schedule and project plan.

Planning & Scheduling:
Plan for, schedule, track, manage and motivate multiple subcontractors and suppliers for the project assigned
Ensure established timetable and schedule for project completion is met by prioritizing tasks, evaluating materials and resources, accounting for anticipated and unanticipated delays due to weather, changes in objectives, and other issues affecting the project goals, and recommending adjustments to schedule as necessary.
Responsible to ensure that all craftsman and visitors to the project work site comply without exception to all OSHA, federal, state, municipal and project specific regulatory safety requirements to ensure and provide the safest working environment for all project members and visitors
Coordinate daily construction and project processes and activities by preparing and maintaining safety materials, ensuring worksite is adequately staffed and includes appropriate materials, coordinating site and city inspections and troubleshooting and resolving issues and violations as necessary
Access and address performance issues with jobsite work crews under STC’s direction and address performance issues with subcontractors
Keeps superintendent informed on subcontractor personnel, amount of work being accomplished and whether subcontractor is on schedule
Coordinate all inspections (City, Deputy, Structural Observation, etc)
Create, track and clear Subcontractor Punch-Lists.
Timely review and approval of subcontractor requisitions and invoices
Timely and profitable completion of assigned projects
Relationship Management :
Responsible for scheduling, interfacing and promoting good relationships with building officials, architects, engineers and project service providers
Lead and motivate members of the project team to complete all phases of work within the schedule and parameter established
Coordinate activities of and assists in supervising project and construction team and contractors by interviewing, orienting and training to ensure proper safety and technical procedures are followed in accordance with Company policies, values and business practices
Complete various human resources, financial, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary
Maintain positive working environment for entire site team
Qualifications:
2 to 5 years of experience in construction/project management
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Construction Management (preferred)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Deadline oriented
Attention to detail and strong customer service skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office products & Google Docs
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of residential building construction activities
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and shop drawings, legal and financial documents,
Ability to interact professionally with all parties associated with project
Working knowledge of material control
Working knowledge of all construction trades, including surveying and engineering procedures
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
