As a Strategic Product Development Senior Manager, you will be a part of the Global Product Strategy & Development (GPSD) team, a functional department housed within Capital Group’s North American Client Group. The Strategic Product Development team is responsible for the product development process across Capital Group. You will be a part of a team that generates, develops, evaluates, and launches new product ideas in support of Capital’s mission to improve people’s lives through successful investing.
You will be a part of formulating and executing on our vision and strategy for product development by defining product strategy, guiding product development, and being engrained in the entire product lifecycle, from surfacing new ideas, to stakeholder partnership, to ownership of our multi-year product roadmap and communication with senior leadership. Your ability to think critically and strategically, passion for developing new services and excitement around the challenges of moving a large organization to launch new products will drive your success in this new leadership role for our firm.
I am the right person Capital Group is looking for:
- You have at least 8-10 years of product development and/or product management experience within the asset management/financial services industry, with an additional 1-2 years of product strategy, corporate strategy, or strategy consulting experience a plus
- You have a deep understanding of the asset management/financial services industry, and a desire to lead product development initiatives from early stage research and developing roadmaps to launching products
- You have demonstrated success in structuring and leading complex efforts, including driving cross-functional programs and leading efforts across the product development life cycle
- You have superior analytical skills and critical thinking agility with an ability to break down ambiguous problems, develop hypotheses, analyze data to generate insights, and build a narrative that resonates with executive audiences
- You enjoy working in a whitespace, where you have the opportunity to curate insights on product and competitor trends, inform the business leadership and influence new directions for growth
- Your expertise showcases your command of the development process, techniques and analytics which will take our ideas into the market.
- You have extremely strong communication/presentation skills, and the ability to work with partners at all levels across the organization
