Primary Purpose:Identify and manage strategic initiatives to support SoCalGas’ business transformation, including design of sustainable business models, customer impact research, and clean fuels integration financial analysis and design.

Lead cross-functional teams and direct contractors to produce analyses, reports and materials that advance the company’s strategic initiatives and guide key business decisions.

Conduct scenario analyses to expand upon decarbonization pathways, and identify costs, risks and potential mitigants, regulatory implications and other relevant information.

Communicate results and recommendations to senior leadership and external stakeholders, including customers, NGOs and policymakers.

Manage special projects to test and demonstrate practicability of theories.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Track pertinent business and market developments and regulatory and other policy proceedings to identify potential risks and opportunities.* Develop strategies to address risks and assist with development of sound and sustainable business practices to achieve long-term corporate and public environmental goals.* Lead cross-functional teams to advance key projects, including analyses, internal and external communications, and pilot programs.* Develop and manage progress reports to communicate status to and gather feedback from leadership.* Analyze and determine regulatory impacts and requirements of key proceedings and strategic initiatives.* Manage related workforce planning, budget analysis, and prepare budget forecasts.* Conduct financial, policy and other analyses as needed to support strategic initiatives.* Research and evaluate available contractors and consultants.* Prepare, negotiate and approve or recommend approval of contracts.* Negotiate contracts changes.* Testify before and/or prepare supporting documentation for CPUC and other government agencies concerning cost estimates.* Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).Required Education, Certifications, Licenses and Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Public Policy or related field of study is required.* 5+ years of related experience working on strategic initiatives analysis, policy analysis or financial analysis is required.* Experience in the energy or utilities industry is preferred.* Experience with financial modeling, forecasting and predictive analytics is preferred.* Project Management experience is preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Project Management knowledge required.* Must be able to assess the potential financial impact of a project to the Company.* Must possess the ability to review complex problems and propose innovative solutions.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is required.* Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of personnel.* Knowledge of energy industry is preferred.* Basic financial modeling, forecasting, and predictive analytics knowledge is preferred.* Knowledge of basic accounting practices preferred.Benefits We Offer:SoCalGas offers a comprehensive, flexible benefits program to help support employees both personally and professionally.
