Sr. RE Portfolio Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for the evaluation, structuring and preparation of Credit Authorizations of proposed and existing commercial, industrial and multi-family loans in the $1,000,000 to $25,000,000 range primarily in the State of California and adjacent states. Position requires an established working knowledge in the technical/analytical aspects of real estate loan underwriting including the evaluation of (i) collateral quality, (ii) financial analysis of and management capacity of the sponsorship, and (iii) market risk. Assists Relationship Managers as well as Real Estate Division Manager in developing, recommending, implementing and monitoring plans to enhance loan portfolio yield and manage risk consistent with Banks prudent underwriting procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Screens and analyzes real estate collateral by comparing sales prices, rents, square footage and other features against available comparable information using accepted appraisal techniques.
Provide specialized guidance to other business units in the Bank to assist in delivering diverse banking products.
Inspects sites to verify obtained information and ascertain area economics, trends, and competition.
Requests the ordering third party reports such as appraisal, environmental reviews and cost review. Coordinates the gathering and delivery of all the necessary information to minimize time taken in accomplishing requested assignments.
Prepares complete Credit Authorization requests for submission to Credit Administration, including loan summary, credit analysis of applicant and applicable backup project data.
Regularly follows up and ensures timely loan closings.
Manage and maintain own loan portfolio and ensure timely modification, extension, renewal, as necessary.
Develops and maintains good relationships with developers, realtors, mortgage brokers, title companies, and other loan referral sources and keeps them aware of the Banks loan programs, requirements and other services.
Maintains a current knowledge of state and federal regulations as they apply to loan policy, procedure, and practices and of rates, fees and terms quoted by other financial institutions. Reports significant changes on trends as they develop.
Participates and represents the Bank at industry-related functions and professional organizations.
Provides assistance and training of junior loan officers within the department in coordination with the department team leader.
Performs duties/special projects, as necessary, and other related duties of which the above are representative.
