SoCalGas: Business Change Manager

Primary PurposeDevelops and manages a strategic and comprehensive portfolio of change projects, and assesses impact across Gas Operations (Storage, Transmission and Distribution).

Provides strategic insight to leadership and supports the communication of key decisions through all levels of the organization.

Works cross-functionally to align leadership support and business readiness activities for all change initiatives.

Identifies opportunities to group change initiatives and drive behavioral changes cumulatively.

Conducts assessments to identify and quantify the risks of change saturation.

Builds strategies and plans to address business needs and maximize the organizations’ capacity for change and project implementation success.Duties and ResponsibilitiesChange Portfolio Management:Build and manage a cumulative ‘portfolio’ view of Gas Operations change projects and stakeholder impacts.Identify impacts of change projects across multiple dimensions to establish a common set of data for all changes (cross-functional process changes and change impacts across departments, resources, budget, timeline, performance metrics, etc.)Plan, track and monitor associated milestones.Translate and explain what information means and how it can be used to inform key operational decisions.Identify opportunities to strategically align and group organizational change management efforts across organizations and stakeholders.Organizational Change Readiness:Partner with Gas Operations Director(s) to build an inspiring organizational vision with clear messaging and connections to the portfolio of changesAdminister communication plans to share the organization’s change vision with employees and impacted stakeholders.Ensure communications is delivered consistently, timely and effectively throughout the organization(s).Provide advisement and recommendations for Organizational Change Management strategies and plans of individual or grouped change initiatives.Consult on process improvements and operational efficiencies identified through the change process.Leadership Alignment & Engagement:Act as a trusted advisor to Gas Operations and stakeholder leadership team decisionsCentralize and align sponsor engagement and support for the change portfolio.Act as an advocate to the business needs and impacts of change initiatives.Advise on managing and mitigating change saturation and collision.Recommend solutions and build organizational and employee readiness plans.Coach and equip leadership at all levels to lead changes with their teams (Front-line Supervisors, Middle Managers, Directors).Enterprise Change Management (ECM):Partner with the Enterprise Change Management department to collaborate and build Change Management influenceAdvocate for ECM growth as a discipline and practice across the enterprise.Demonstrate continuous learning in ECM and organizational development, and apply new knowledge / skills to the job.Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).NOTE: This posting is for 3 postions, 2 that will be filled as 2 year employment contracts and 1 will be filled as a regular position.QualificationsEducationBachelor’s Degree Organizational development or related field (i.E.

Business Strategy, Organizational Effectiveness, Organizational Psychology, etc.) or equivalent experience.

RequiredExperience5+ years experience in organizational strategy, organizational change management or project management.

RequiredInstructional design and training experience preferred.Skills and AbilitiesRecognized leader or contributor in profession.Experience in leading organizational change and transformation projects, working with senior management teams, and preparing and coaching employees for organizational changes.Significant experience in organizational strategy, decision making and project management.Experience working across multiple departments, interacting and advising senior managers, and leading employees through change initiatives.Proficient in critical thinking, situational analysis, strategic thinking, scope, schedule and budget management, analyzing and mitigating organizational impacts.Southern California Gas Company is an EEO/AA EmployerEqual Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
