is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to join our Team The Site Superintendent is the on-site point person overseeing all project work and is required to be on site throughout the project.

The Superintendent is responsible for the scheduling, coordinating, and supervising of craft employees and assigned staff at project sites.

The Superintendent is also responsible for the coordination and support of subcontractors field operations.

The Superintendent works under the general guidance and direction of the Project Manager, Director of Civil and Remediation Services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The Site Superintendent must demonstrate the following knowledge or experience: At least five (5) years experience with management of field activities on earthmoving on more than one project within the last ten (10) years.

At least one project must include earth work of least 50,000-100,000 cubic yards in a 12-month period.

Example of earth work projects include soil excavation, disposal, consolidation, and regrading.

At least two (2) years as a SS supervising personnel at clean-up sites with hazardous substances.

At least two (2) years as a SS supervising personnel on mine waste clean-up sites.

Knowledge of hazardous materials transportation and disposal regulations.

Demonstrated experience addressing and resolving issues and complaints with property owners with minimal involvement of EPA personnel.

Experience tracking site costs and site activities.

For example, developing weekly Progress Reports.

Experience communicating and coordinating with property owners and, documenting property owner agreements, and resolution of property owner complaints.

Experience managing and ensuring proper execution of multiple simultaneous subcontracts and/or vendors of varying types and complexity.

Experience tracking site costs routinely.

OSHA 10-hour Construction Outreach training.

40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and be up to date on HAZWOPER 8-hour annual refreshers.

Clean driving record PREFERRED: Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) Bilingual
– English/Spanish PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Team responsibilities: Lead a team comprised of craft and subcontractor personnel.

Includes interviewing, hiring, and training (will involve training on construction equipment on projects); planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; addressing concerns and assisting in providing appropriate resolution.

Regularly review time reporting to ensure accuracy of hours and tasks.

Project responsibilities: Manage resources, equipment and required tools for employees to use in the completion of their jobs.

Guide, assign, schedule, and oversee the work of staff and contractors, suppliers, and other workers to ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget.

Manage quality and continuous improvement of processes as business growth dictates.

Oversee work performance and productivity of crafts and subcontractors to ensure project rules, procedures, specifications, safety requirements, etc.

Be the liaison between field engineering and crafts to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.

Safely and efficiently supervise large scale heavy earth moving construction projects.

Recognize potential changes and other project impacts and assist project management with notices and claims.

Advise project management of potential changes (scope and conditions), potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc.; assist in circumventing and/or resolving such problems as required.

Business responsibilities: Manage daily construction activities; Prepare status reports and management summaries to managers, clients, contractors, suppliers, and other key parties; develop guidance documents and standard operating procedures for the project; monitor budget performance for project.

Safety responsibilities: Committed to and responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.

Ensure employees follow project health and safety plans, safety standards, regulations, and workplace laws.

To avoid incidents, perform pre-work/task planning, review project hazards and participate in Job Hazard Analysis; participate in incident investigation and reporting, and partner with Health and Safety personnel in the accomplishment of these responsibilities.

Technical responsibilities: Serve as the subject matter expert, providing problem resolution related to area of expertise.

Responsible for sharing expertise through mentoring operators, laborers, and supervisors/foremen.
