Job Description Job Description SHIPPING & WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION Seeking an experienced hands-on candidate to grow company’s shipping department and streamline processes of supply chain, inventory management and daily shipping/receiving operations. SHIPPING & WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Shipping Work · Execute inbound receiving procedures (preparing receiving slips, PO reconciliation, lot code assignments, etc.) · Execute outbound shipping procedures (scheduling, product release in ERP system, coordinating with customers). · Schedule and coordinate distribution fleet for weekly route deliveries. · Maintains daily shipping logs used for food product distribution. · Rotates all products by following company policies, understanding FIFO and product movement concepts. · Reports directly to Supply Chain Manager for any shipping or logistic discrepancies. · Serves as a backup driver as needed. Warehouse Work · Direct daily warehouse activities including pick/pack/palletize/ship. Provide coverage when needed. · Maintain, monitor, and enforce the proper operations of material handling equipment. · Reconcile materials and ingredients transferred from warehouse to the Production floor. · Oversee physical inventory counts ensuring accuracy of raw material, packaging materials and finished products. Food Safety Work · Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workplace, inclusive of all items in warehouse and coolers. · Monitor temperatures in cooler rooms to ensure food product safety. · Train shipping & warehouse operators and enforce safety procedures when using material handling equipment Follow all safety and GMP protocols as directed by Operations Manager and Quality Control Team. SHIPPING & WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: · 3 years food distribution experience or 3 years of supply chain industry experience · 1 years experience of supervising a team of >5. · 1 years experience in using courier services UPS, FedEx, 3PL, LTL. · Industry knowledge of FIFO/LIFO, HACCP & cGMP guidelines · Proven leadership experience in a Team setting. · Computer skills is required: MS Office, Email, SAGE 300 ERP (or equivalent), and ability to learn new systems quickly. Data entry skills required. · Requires effective oral and written communication including math and reading comprehension. · Excellent critical and analytical skills · Bilingual a plus (English, Chinese, Spanish) · Willingness to work holidays and weekends (if necessary) · Occasionally drive 26GVW box truck for local deliveries, as needed · Frequent usage of pallet jack and forklift BENEFITS FOR FULL TIME CANDIDATES ( post 90-day introductory period ): · Group Insurance · Vacation & Holidays · Bonuses SHIPPING & WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear, reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, push, and pull. The employee is regularly required to climb up and down stairs and perform repetitive motions. The employee is regularly required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, pull, lift, pick/pinch, or grasp. The employee must frequently lift and /or move 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee is required to enter occasionally to cold boxes and freezer rooms. The employee is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operate machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach.
