Senior Vice President, Business Development – Remote

The  Senior Vice President  will drive and support growth in the Government Savings business.

Initiatives will include developing new product strategies with new partners, identifying opportunities for revenue growth within existing Ascensus plans and leading initiatives to capitalize on these opportunities, and managing the pursuit of new relationships with states, 529 program managers, and distribution partners.

This role will require demonstrated business development, partnership development, strategic thinking, problem solving and executive communications skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic, senior member of the Government Savings leadership team, with a responsibility to bridge product, technology, and operations to design solutions that will drive business growth.
  • Develop business relationships with prospects and partners to grow existing 529 plans or to launch new 529 plans.
  • Seek out new entrants to the government savings industry, guiding them through an introduction to the industry, how their firm can leverage their products and/or services in this market, and creatively designing partnerships with Ascensus to drive business growth.
  • Develop new product initiatives, including partnerships that enable Ascensus to drive revenue and value for clients and our business.
  • Recommend and execute strategies to drive growth in Ascensus-managed 529 plans.

    Strategies may include marketing initiatives, product enhancements, or new distribution methods.

  • Manage proposal processes, including interfaces with strategic partners, pricing strategy, and delivery of RFP responses.
  • Drive pricing and service negotiations.
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 years relevant experience in financial services industry.
  • Ability to develop deep understanding of the Ascensus product and service offering and communicate the offering to prospective clients and partners
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop pricing strategies and work closely with finance to build economic models
  • Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail across all aspects of work
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines to meet strategic business objectives
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Regular travel required
