Job Description

Mott MacDonald is seeking a senior project manager for our San Diego/Los Angeles Office to support our Rail & Transit group in the Southern California region.

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for various leadership, project management, and engineering design/review duties on transportation projects.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Works on civil engineering infrastructure projects and tasks in the field of transportation Performs assignments using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks Will work as part of an integrated cross-discipline team solving complex technical problems on some of Southern California’s most significant transportation projects Manages project staff and design consultants to keep projects on budget and schedule and within agreed upon scope Oversees technical scopes of work and conducts technical engineering reviews Works under the guidance of Project Managers to complete technical tasks and work objectives Performs tasks that include preparation of designs and calculations for rail and transit engineering projects Gathers and maintains specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.

and gathers field data Participates with senior leaders in the establishment of short
– and long-term plans for the transportation practice Participates actively in and supporting internal and external development and training activities
Candidate Specification

Required qualifications will include:
Ideal candidates must have a BS in Civil Engineering and 10+ years of experience on rail & transit projects Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience with design, project/program management, and/or project coordination is preferred Experience may include preliminary and/or final design of general civil engineering, utilities, and rail and transit California Professional Engineer license Be able to mentor and help develop Junior and Intermediate engineers Demonstrated interest in developing and maintaining client relations Candidate should be familiar with model-based design utilizing various CAD software programs Strong written and oral communication skills and leading a team is very important for this role Desire to work with multiple agencies to develop projects in a collaborative fashion
