In this vital role you will help transform the Process Development (PD) portfolio prioritization capability as part of the Integrated Portfolio Advancement (IPA) organization.

Working closely with Operations Therapeutic Area Heads, CMC Integration (CMCi), and PD senior leaders across the functions, the Sr Project Manager will help develop and implement a new, more agile framework for strategic portfolio prioritization, including insights and proposals on advancing business processes and systems as well as serving as the Business Process Owner (BPO) of the prioritization framework.

The Sr Project Manager will partner with the Knowledge Advancement and Insights team and CMCi Portfolio Managers to align and integrate with our Capacity Management Teams, PD Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) project, and the on-going technology capability advancements.

The Sr Project Manager will also directly support cross-portfolio capacity management assessments and communications in partnership with the head of IPA and the CMCi Portfolio Managers.

The Integrated Portfolio Advancement group within Process Development is responsible for enabling advancement of Amgens portfolio of commercial and pipeline assets through integrated planning and execution.

We partner with the Product Delivery Teams across all stages of commercialization to optimize the pipeline portfolio through Data Collection and Analysis, Project Management, Capability and Capacity Management, and Prioritization Alignment.

Develop proposal and implementation roadmap for an improved PD portfolio prioritization strategy and framework; drive solutions to complex business problems by leading in-depth analysis, coordination and negotiation with key decision makers Conduct project scoping and chartering, define implementation strategy, and guide project completion Partner with the Portfolio Performance Analytics team, R&D and Commercial to understand corporate and functional prioritization approaches and data sources to support PD prioritization Support advancement of the PD PPM technology transition project Organizational and business change management Ability to think both strategically and tactically while managing various stakeholder perspectives Strong analytical and Project Management ability with an eye for data quality Ability to develop and effectively present to executive level leadership Embody and advance a culture of continuous improvement and diversity, inclusion, and belonging Leverage network to identify business requirements and potential opportunities Win What we expect of you Basic Qualifications : Doctorate degree and 4 years of Strategy, Business Development or Operations experience Or Masters degree and 8 years of Strategy, Business Development or Operations experience Or Bachelors degree and 10 years of Strategy, Business Development or Operations experience And 4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.

The highly motivated professional we seek has the following qualifications: Strong quantitative and qualitative skills including financial analysis, cost accounting, and product lifecycle management Business acumen, high-level strategic thinking and strong analytical skills Strong understanding of drug development, commercialization, and operations planning Manufacturing, supply chain fundamentals, and risk management understanding Ability to structure, pragmatically scope, and solve abstract and complex problems Strong executive writing / presentation skills, cross-functional collaboration Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with an established ability to drive decisions Experience as a mentor and leader of a high performing team with organizational and project management experience Working knowledge of Planisware (highly preferred), MS Project (highly preferred), Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheets, and MS Teams Preference for candidates who have been engaged in Planisware implementations and portfolio value optimization Thrive What you can expect of us As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, so we work to care for our teammates professional and personal growth and well-being.
