TuSimple is seeking a senior leader and driver for our Program Management Organization.

This position requires an experienced professional with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills who is comfortable communicating complex issues across all levels of the organization.

In this role, you will showcase your field expertise, will learn and adapt quickly, and motivate and challenge cross-functional teams to produce product excellence, within our fast-paced environment.

As Senior Program Manager, you will own Programs and oversee launches that consist of highly complex and sensitive Intellectual Property
– ensuring your programs and products meet all objectives, metrics, and requirements across all stages of your program.

Role Responsibilities
Serves as overall leadership for assigned program, working with internal and external cross-functional teams.

Provides and communicates overall vision and direction for program.

Identifies and solves cross functional and inter-team challenges
Partners with Program’s Lead Engineer to define milestones, deliverables, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for each phase of the vehicle development program, and resolve issues/remove road-blocks for cross-functional teams
Oversees program plan and timing across multiple products, including critical path, milestones, key dependencies, and summary and status reporting
Drives the vehicle/product development process, in partnership with the cross-functional teams (design, hardware, software, supply chain, prototype build, NPI, production manufacturing, marketing/sales, etc.) to ensure each product meets aligning objectives, KPIs, and launch timelines
Leads and oversees the gathering of status and KPI updates from Vehicle System Engineering and other cross-functional teams, through assigned PMO staff.

Compiles updates into various status and summary reports for and provides full program updates to executive leadership, in team meetings, and at Program Level forums with TuSimple partners and customers
Builds program-specific dashboards which are utilized to effectively communicate program status cross-functionally, track information, provide on-demand status reports, and review against KPIs, milestones, and program objectives in system team settings and vehicle program level forum.

Ensures dashboards and information contained within are accessible to all necessary stakeholders
Oversees and ensures accurate and complete capture of program and product(s)performance; including ensuring product(s) meets aligning KPIs and objectives, appropriate requirements decomposition performed, architecture definition is fully flushed out and maintained, test plan is fully defined, and both functional and non-functional testing and validation to requirements are successfully conducted
Appropriately delegates tasks to cross-functional Product Launch Teams (PLT),partnering with cross-functional PLT leaders to ensure all team members are held accountable and meet deadlines and milestone dates
Oversees and operates as an experienced consultant in support of quality control plan development, including: process flow diagrams, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis(PFMEA), Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA),control plans, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) checklists, and aligning work instructions
Ensures key financial and budgetary activities, including the costed bill of materials, the program prototype budget, PMO budgets (headcount, expense, etc.), align with budget
Effectively leads Project Managers and Project Analysts with the delivery of a portfolio of projects, driving best-in-class program management standards, and providing executive summaries of status across the entire program
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Management, or related field
12+ years of experience with Project/Program including relevant automotive or aerospace engineering experience.

(Other relevant engineering experience will be considered)
2+ years of experience directly managing Project/Program Management teams

Preferred Requirements
Master’s Degree + in Automotive Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
15+ year experience in Program Management within the automotive product development and delivery space
5+ years of experience program managing high dollar value products/product development
Autonomous Driving industry experience, highly preferred
Experience working with highly technical teams
Experience working in a start-up environment.

Technical/Specialized Skills
Proven success with leading highly technical/automotive programs, (including leading engineering, operations, and business teams) though the delivery of a wide range of program objectives and KPIs to bring multiple products to market.
Demonstrated understanding of engineering, finance, manufacturing, operations, and quality principles, as it relates to Program Management and technical/automotive product life-cycles
Proven success with New Product Introduction (NPI),product launch, and post-sale support
Solid understanding of functional safety and ISO 26262standards.
Strong understanding of the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and IATF/TS-16949 standards.
Solid ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Superior experience creating, maintaining and driving program plans of varying complexity, including: scope, schedules, resources, workstreams, and risks
Ability to understand and interpret financial documents and reports
Proven ability to successfully and efficiently navigate complex interdependencies within and external of the organization, proactively addressing to optimize productivity and mitigate risk
Demonstrated success with partnering with business and engineering leadership teams to deliver to program objectives
Well-versed and accomplished veteran in program/project management and technical/engineering principles for assigned area
Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire and motivate Project teams to effectively and efficiently accomplish goals.

Ability to create a sense of “team” despite different time zones
Proven highly effective leader of cross-functional teams, ensuring clear focus and direction, fostering teamwork and collaborations, and delivering program objectives on schedule, some simultaneously
Established ability to effectively influence internal and external cross-functional teams to meet program needs
Polished and professional communication and presentations skills; demonstrated ability to translate technical information to meet the needs of the audience
Demonstrated ability to train and develop others to identify interdependencies, analyze and mitigate risk, consistently demonstrate leadership, clearly and effectively communicate status v.
