nnThis position will serve as a Senior Director responsible for the origination, underwriting, due diligence and closing of real estate senior debt investments.nn nnEssential Duties and Responsibilities:nn nnSupport the underwriting and due diligence review of transactionsModeling deals using ExcelMarket researchSales and rental compsSponsor/borrower background checksPreparing investment committee deliverablesProperty site visits/due diligenceClosing transactionsScreen inquiries, which requires interaction and follow-up with sponsors/borrowers.Manage deal flow pipelineInitial deal underwriting and analysisCommunicate with sponsor/borrowers regarding transactionsCash flow and financial modeling of transactionsReview of due diligence material and third-party reportsThird party reports – condition assessment, environmental phase I/phase IIMarket studiesProperty-level and market-level researchDraft investment term sheets and investment memorandums under the guidance of senior leadersManage account investor relationshipsInvestment pipeline management and communicationPresent investment recommendationsOther duties as assignednn nnEducation and Experience:nn nnBachelors required; Masters preferred7 + years financial modeling experience with Excel and Argus7 + years real estate experience5+ years experience directly originating and closing debt investmentsPrior experience in structuring real estate debt investments requiredTransaction closing experience including familiarity with legal documents and settlement statements preferredAbility to work flexible hours/overtimeAbility to travel overnight up to 20%nn nnKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:nn nnThe company supports value-added thinking, creativity and problem solving.Excellent Excel modeling skills are needed to demonstrate returns via IRR waterfalls, look backs, data tables, mapping and graphics (model example preferred)Detail oriented business and very credit disciplinedComfortable analyzing real estate projects for financial feasibility as well as analyzing market driven factorsStrong writing skills, with the ability to synthesize information from several sources into concise and coherent conclusions (writing sample required)Excellent communication skillsStrong motivation and a passion for real estate, with the ability to work without supervisionAbility to work independently with the #1 goal of contributing to the team’s goalsnn
