Senior IT Project Manager

Job Description Description: Role Summary The project manager is responsible to successfully manage the project from planning phase thru closure and deliver in-alignment with the defined planning phase outcomes (including business/ IT capabilities and value, benefits, budget, resource and timeline commitments).

Responsibilities Overall management and coordination of the design, build, test, change management, deployment and support transition for the project.

Manages definition of the project scope and deliverables.

Manages overall project budget, scope, and timeline and the impact to any of these constraints.

Resolve project level risks and issues.

Escalate program level risks and issues to PMO for support.

Ensures the project uses the PMO defined standards, methods and approach to manage and deliver the project (Project Management Methodology).

Works with team leads to monitor the cost, schedule and quality, while working to ensure the ultimate success of the project.

Works with the project team (e.g., process owners, business & technical leads, subject matter experts) to create, maintain the work plan (including interim and major project milestones) and track execution.

Schedules and coordinates project activities, work assignments and status reporting.

Schedules and facilitates project team meetings.

Manages day-to-day project resource commitments, schedule, dependencies, and deadlines vi comprehensive work plan.

Works with the business lead and technical lead to communicate a compelling vision of the project goals to team members.

Drive to complete deliverables with the appropriate level of quality, accuracy and completeness.

Manage Scope Change Requests (vetted, documented, dispositioned, implemented) per defined PMO standards & program governance.

Manage cross-team integration topics (issues, risks, actions, decisions) and work across leads to drive resolution.

Collaboratively work with other Project Managers/ Delivery Leads on cross-project dependencies and milestones.

Coordinate with program leadership / PMO to obtain approval on resource requirements, managing team expectations, engagement & financial impacts.

Fosters teamwork among project team members to achieve the project outcomes.

Complete weekly project status report.

Meets regularly with PMO to review project status, risks and issues.

Meets regularly with project-specific stakeholders.

Elicits logs and manages risks and issues, and escalates as necessary.

Serves as the main coordination point for the project team and project leadership.

Identifies and documents time and cost requirements.

Monitors each team member’s performance, provides feedback, and escalates issues as necessary.

Manages key stakeholders’ expectations in collaboration with the PMO.

Ensures a plan is in place for integration/transition of business and system changes into normal operations.

Performs project closure activities including capturing lessons learned and electronically archiving project artifacts.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 10 years’ experience with deep project management experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Is able to convey concepts and ideas professionally using the presentation style most appropriate to the subject matter and stakeholders (e.g.

Project Steering Committee, Project Team, etc.).

Demonstrated understanding and experience with applicable SDLC/Project methodologies and frameworks including Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum Working familiarity with Project Management Institute (PMI) foundational standards such as Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) Experience and working knowledge with Microsoft Project and Project Web App (PWA).

PREFERRED SKILLS Understands and executes the required financial governance processes for gaining approval, initiating and managing projects Understands and executes the required governance processes for the full IT project lifecycle (e.g.

initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, closure).
