About the Role: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees all SBA/USDA loan processing for the bank.Directs the SBA processing department.
Ensures the 10-day turn around for loan packaging.
Monitors efficiency within the department.Maintains Bank’s preferred lender status with SBA.Interaction with regulators, internal auditors, external auditors, the SBA and USDA to ensure compliance with Federal and State lending compliance laws and regulations.Oversees reporting and monitoring of the performing and non-performing loans in the SBA/USDA loan portfolio including gathering required financial statements and tax returns.Maintains the Bank’s SBA loan portfolio ensuring regulatory compliance requirements associated with SBA loans.Manage all aspects of the SBA/USDA Servicing & Liquidation lending functions with regard to analyzing, structuring and approval of all servicing action.Assist processing team in processing SBA loans.Reviews all workout plans on SBA and USDA loans prior to seeking approval by the Chief Credit Officer to ensure compliance with SBA and USDA SOP and other regulations.The position requires additional proven experience in managing and training people, as well as facilitating the resolution of multiple types of past due loans to minimize losses to the bank.Maintains a current file on material changes.
Authorizes release of collateral on existing loans, changes in loan terms, waivers of payments, due date change, etc.
within their authorization limits.Responsible for assisting with internal and external SBA audits including pre-review of the audit selection and responses to any audit action items on all loan in the SBA Servicing and Liquidation loan portfolio.
Also responsible for SBA PARRIS audit results.Assists by suggesting and implementing policy and process changes necessary to the department.Other duties as assigned.
About You: QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum ten years of relevant SBA servicing, credit, risk and collection management experienceCollege degree (BS or BA in a relevant field)KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY: Must possess working knowledge of SBA SOP’s & USDA regulationsTechnical skills to institute policies, procedures, and controls.Experience in the management of problem assetsExperience with utilizing and monitoring various models to service the total SBA 7a and USDA loan portfolioStrong interpersonal skills facilitating maximization of working relationship with customers and bankers throughout regions as well as direct reportsStrong organizational and communication skills (spoken and written)Ability to effectively delegate and manage workflow while setting priorities for direct reports to meet the goals of the SBA Department and the BankStrong analytical skills with problem solving abilitiesExcellent computer skills coupled with a working knowledge of all software utilized in the SBA Department and maximize efficiency by utilizing technology to its fullestGood working knowledge of other areas/divisions of the bankAbility to work with colleagues and associates to analyze, develop and implement new strategies for managing risk in all areas in the bankHigh level of professionalism and integrityWORK ENVIRONMENT: PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
