What You’ll Do
Clarkston’s Senior SAP Consultants assist clients in configuring and implementing their respective SAP systems and serve as senior business systems consultants in their respective areas on client engagements.
As expert advisors, they review the client’s current business processes and computer systems, define the new business processes and system requirements to be implemented, configure and implement the SAP system to support the new business processes, and assist with knowledge transfer and training of end-users.
The SAP Integrated Business Planning Senior Consultant applies strong knowledge of the business processes for developing and testing SAP functions associated with supply chain management and planning, primarily for Process Industry clients.
Successful candidates must have a deep understanding of IBP, including connection points with FI, PP, MM and other modules, expertise in SAP-IBP S&OP, demand planning, supply planning and Inventory Planning with model configuration and planning.
Successful candidates must have the ability to provide insight and advise clients on applying IBP to these practices.
Successful candidates will also have a strong ability to understand clients’ production business processes and create solutions addressing the current and future needs of the organization.
Additionally, as an SAP IBP Senior Consultant at Clarkston you will:
• Lead and manage small teams implementing business process improvements and implementing SAP IBP systems for our clients.
• Conduct solution architecting workshops with business managers.
Work with client staff and end-users to determine the functional requirements for the system within the IBP modules.
• Create detailed systems documentation, test scripts, and presentations.
• Leverage business and technical expertise to address technology architecture, blueprinting, data analysis, business modeling, technical design, application development, integration, and enablement.
• Configure the SAP IBP system to meet the business requirements.
• Experience with data replication between (IBP) & external systems using CPI-DS.
• Experience in IBP supply planning-heuristics, optimizer, and planning views/charts/alerts.
Experience with Excel and Web UI to perform the planning activities.
• Experience in cross module knowledge on HANA, Fiori, MM, SCM, and BW.
• Provide general technical support in IBP business systems analysis including the IBP Control Tower for our clients and conduct SAP training as required for client personnel.
• Manage and oversee the design and development of customized reports as required, utilizing ABAP technical resources and other tools (e.g., report writer) functionality within SAP.
• Design and development of interfaces and conversion programs to/from existing legacy systems.
• Provide leadership and guidance to other systems analysts and client personnel assigned to the projects.
• Assist with scoping prospective engagements and developing proposals.
• Conduct knowledge sharing and serve as a subject matter expert for other company functional staff in support of client project deliverables.
Be available to answer questions that may arise from past or current clients.
• Define and develop best practices, solution demonstrations, and functional configurations within the Clarkston Labs environment to support current clients and sales pursuits.
• May also develop training materials, conduct knowledge sharing sessions, and contribute to Clarkston’s marketing and/or thought leadership activities.
What We Are Looking For
An ideal candidate for an SAP IBP Senior Consultant would have gained experience in the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent discipline required.
• Seven (7) years of prior professional consulting or equivalent supply/demand planning business process industry experience.
• Five or more years of experience in full life cycles of project implementation of IBP.
• Expertise in SAP-IBP S&OP, demand planning, supply planning and Inventory Planning with model configuration and planning.
• Expertise in the setup and application of the IBP Control Tower functionality.
Successful completion of at least three full life cycle implementations of an SAP IBP system.
• Strong understanding of systems development lifecycle and system implementation methodologies.
• Ability to travel extensively (80%).
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior level executives.
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong client services orientation and accustomed to taking an active role in executing engagements and project plans/tasks.
• Excellent team building, mentoring, and leadership abilities.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to present and write at publication quality level to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Achievement oriented, independent and entrepreneurial.
Travel is an integral part of this role and is estimated to average 50-75% and may vary based upon client and project needs.
While travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19 restrictions, all non-essential travel has been limited and any on-site requests are subject to review.
