REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF SALES | LOS ANGELES REGION

POSITION PROFILE

The Regional Director of Sales is responsible for planning and managing the overall sales for the Palisociety Portfolio hotels in the Los Angeles Area market. This role has the responsibility to achieve optimal occupancy and ADR growth to maximize total revenue while meeting/exceeding hotel profit objectives for the full collection of hotels in the Los Angeles and Santa Barbara region.

 

This individual will oversee operations of the regional sales department, and all sales driven market segments, including but not limited to direct sales follow-up sales administration hiring of staff training managing and coaching. Additional responsibilities include sales and marketing forecast, business plans and ongoing reporting.

THE TASK AT HAND:

Direct Sales:

  • Develop appointment-oriented sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program, in accordance with goals established by departmental budget and marketing plan.
  • Must have experience with group business that include all market segments.
  • Must meet monthly KPI’s as determined by Managing Director of Sales
  • Work with F&B department to book and drive events and catering sales in-line with budgetary goals.
  • Work with corporate marketing team to develop campaigns and programs to support the sales endeavors.

 

Revenue Management:

  • Well-rounded understanding of the particulars of revenue management and its relation to sales, including but not limited to: 
  • Market intelligence and trends
  • Sales and revenue strategies
  • General knowledge of revenue and reservations systems. 

New Account Development/Key Account Management:

  • Capture competitor’s accounts through networking & research to be able to target and solicit those most probable to generate new business.
  • Continually targets and prospects for new business through telemarketing, individual creativity and innovation.
  • Maximize current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer room night and revenue growth.

Customer Service:

  • Develop strong customer relations through frequent communication and the use of professional, courteous, and ethical interpersonal interaction both internal and external customers.
  • Utilizing corporate selected systems and protocols, develop customer profiles and maintains an effective trace system, including trace dates and references, to best meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues.

Communication:

  • Exhibit a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintains open communications with all co-workers for the best overall performance of the hotel.

Reporting: 

  • Achieves activity goals as established by management and completes all reports and assignments in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Prepares sales metrics reports documenting sales calls, outlining opportunities, and identifying new bookings.
  • Prepares monthly production reports for both group and transient business and F&B events and bookings.
  • Prepares quarterly production reports and analysis.

 

Community & Travel:

  • Actively participate in community and industry organizations and travel where needed for client appointments, site visits or trade shows to benefit the collection’s exposure to the community and bottom line. As necessary, attend out-of-town conventions to generate business. 

 

Sales Leadership:  

  • Follow company policies and procedures and effectively communicate these policies to the Southern California Sales team.
  • Be the sales support to all hotels in their defined territory.
  • Effectively manage wages and controllable expenses, while focusing on maximizing the financial performance of the department and monitoring performance against budgets and goals.

Hotel Leadership:

  • Lead by example at all times and stay visible to the team.
  • Be part of a leadership team of brand advocates who believe in what Palisociety and Arrive by Palisociety has to offer and who are personally invested in its success.
  • Foster an environment where team members know they are valued, ensuring they are treated fairly and with respect.
  • Assist in building a culture of open communication, spend time with team members and be available for them (open door policy).
  • Continuously strive to improve and maintain client and guest experiences.
  • Be a leader in managing the overall reputation management of the properties.
  • Continue to give the brand a voice – naturally showcasing what the brand has to offer and its virtues to others (employees, leaders, owners). 
  • Easily translate a passion for the brand into a unique experience for both guest and employees.
  • Personify the best values of the brand, demonstrating exceptional work ethic and service delivery for all employees on property.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Minimum 5 years hotel sales experience in a leadership role
  • Prior hotel experience required. 
  • Must be able to communicate in English, both written and verbal.
  • You must be able to speak clearly and understandably over the telephone. 
  • Great written communication and Telephone Etiquette 
  • Organization 
  • Professionalism 
  • Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet 
  • OPERA, Tripleseat, Mews, Stay N Touch experience a plus.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  •  This position often requires sitting and using hands and fingers to operate a computer or phone; it requires ability to talk and hear, communicating clearly through phone and internet meetings.
  • Position frequently requires standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, and occasionally climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • The vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision.
  • Lifting between 5 to 20 pounds is sometimes required.
