Regional Director of Manufacturing

Regional Director of Manufacturingn n The Regional Director of Manufacturing will have the following responsibilities:n Works closely with Sales VPs to establish regional strategies and goals, resulting in region profitability, innovative products, and excellent service Works closely with the Ops VPs to optimize the use of assets and resources within a region.

Identifies opportunities to improve profitability and services Champions a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the region.

Drives year-over-year improvements for TIR, DART, and lost time rates through use of behavior-based tools and leading indicators Manages plant and regional P&Ls to achieve company goals and year-over-year improvements.

Drives cost reduction activities within the region, positively affecting the P&L.

Does regular review of plant P&L Reports, focusing on materials, labor, delivery, and plant expenses Drives the plants to meet or exceed customer expectations in terms of service standards (order lead-times, fill rates, accuracy) and quality standards (product performance, shelf-life, and product presentation) Develops and executes the manufacturing assets are operated safely, productively, properly and reliably.

Maintains plant KPIs to ensure that manufacturing targets are achieved, including worker productivity, throughput, reject rate, product quality, yield and uptime Drives reduction in materials cost at plants.

Works with vendors and R&D to maintain or lower material cost structures, identify alternate sources of materials which may lower costs or reduce supply chain risk Manages Transportation assets to minimize costs and maximize costs and maximize service while maintaining targeted service levels.

Builds the company fleet to minimize the use of contract haulers (inbound, outbound and ICTs), including adding drivers, tractors, trailers, bulk tankers, and loading / unloading equipment Works with Engineering on expansions and process improvements.

Ensures that plant capital expenditure projects are done on time and on budget, and that work is done according to company standards and in accordance with government regulations Establishes and maintains plant organizational structures in support of corporate and site goals, projects and sales volume.

Master’s degree preferred 10+ years manufacturing and operations management or related experience, with minimum 5 years in a senior manufacturing leadership role with regional multi-site responsibilities Manufacturing experience in mixing and packaging of consumer products using bulk and hand-added ingredients Experience in dry and liquid products Distribution experience in servicing home improvement stores and independent wholesalers via Truckload, drop-ship and LTL deliveries.
