Region Sales Manager, Surgical – Rocky Mountains

Headquartered in El Segundo, California, KARL STORZ Endoscopy-America is responsible for all U.S. distribution of endoscopes, instruments, imaging systems, electromechanical devices, and OR1® integration technologies.

KSEA is currently seeking a Region Sales Manager, Rocky Mountain to join the Surgical Sales team. This role will oversee sales activity for the following territory: Colorado, Nebraska, Idaho and parts of South Dakota . Hired candidate will be required to preferably live in the greater Denver area, or Colorado Springs area.

Reporting to the Director, Surgical Sales, this role is accountable for achieving the quantitative goals set for the Rocky Mountain Region each calendar year. Additionally, this role is expected to build and maintain positive working relationships with all internal departments (Marketing, Operations, Customer Support, Service, HR, etc.). Lastly, this role is responsible for overseeing and ensuring their team members are evolving and are in compliance with company policies while they drive strategic initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role’s major activities will include, but may not be limited to:

Quota Attainment

  • Understand how to direct key strategic, complex capital deals. These deals involve key c-suite stakeholders and influencers and as the Region Manager you will need to lead the team in maneuvering.
  • Leverage the discipline of strategic selling to attain quota. Proven experience in strategic selling and examples of wins due to the success of the process.

Leading People

  • Lead (8) high performing Account Executives and (2) Sales Associates. Support Account Executives and direct reports by providing opportunities for growth and developmental experiences in preparation for broader responsibilities.
  • Attract, hire, develop and retain a diverse talent pool of Account Executives and Sales Associates; execute effective and timely performance management.
  • Foster an environment of information sharing, i.e. market intelligence and best practices, leveraging field-based talent and experiences.
  • Understand the competencies of the future, and help evolve the team towards those competencies- e.g network based competencies.
  • Foster teamwork by inspiring others to excel through a commonly shared vision, aligning people behind the vision and motivating others to execute against the mission.
  • Understand and effectively communicate what’s required to be successful while personifying KSEA culture and core values.
  • Accomplish goals within boundaries established by company policies and sound ethical practices.

Providing Strategic Vision and Goals

  • Provide clear strategic direction to drive market share and sales growth for all key products.
  • Interpret and integrate complex, often ambiguous, marketplace data into decisions that drive productivity and performance.
  • Implement data driven strategies to achieve respective region sales, market share and market growth targets.
  • Identify local market risks and opportunities, develop area business plans, and leverage national marketing strategies to drive the attainment of sales and profit goals and positively impact customer needs.
  • Optimize financial and non-financial resources to achieve sales and market share growth targets with specific detail toward profitable business segments for KSEA.

Relationship Building

  • Establish strong, lasting relationships with key customers (physician champions and hospital administrators).
  • Develop strong relationships with KSEA functional areas (Sales Finance, Service, Operations, Corporate Accounts, IS, and Marketing) and provide feedback to the Area Director on activities and market conditions.
  • Take an active role in key markets to support Account Executive(s) and Sales Associate’s efforts to drive success.
  • Present strong, professional image of self and KSEA during executive level customer presentations.

REQUIREMENTS

Our successful candidate must have:

  • Excellent written andspoken business communication skills.
  • At least 5 years of sales experience, preferably within a medial or surgical device company.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading and developing high performing Account Executives; preferably within a medial or surgical device company.
  • Proven experience in strategic selling and the disciplined process of strategic selling, being able to reference examples
  • Proven experience in technology sales, showing aptitude in network-based solutions or high tech, being able to reference examples as a means to show aptitude
  • Proven experience in c-suite engagement, being able to reference examples
  • Proven experience in complex financing solutions; being able to reference examples
  • Proven experience in conflict resolution
  • Proven ability to handle multiple complex business scenarios in parallel
  • Proven experience in GPO/IDN engagement
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the work week, including overnights.
  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred.
