Reports To: VP of Sales

THE BIG PICTURE

The Modern Times Region Sales Manager (RSM) reports to the Director of Sales and is responsible for overseeing the development of the company’s strategic sales plan in their market and executing that plan in close cooperation with the Director of Sales, National Account Manager, and our distributors. The RSM will work with our distributors and the operations team to assist in the process of setting concrete goals, forecasting growth, executing chain programming, and ensuring accountability by all parties. The Region Sales director will work with the VP of Sales to meet marketing, financial, and brewery growth objectives while constantly re-evaluating performance against the sales plan. They will work closely with appointed distributors to ensure regular and effective ordering cycles, goal thresholds, and share of mind. The Region Manager is also responsible for managing Territory Sales Manager, Market Development Manager, and Sales Wizard goals and activities in the assigned area. These activities include, but are not limited to, territory setting, education, goal-setting and strategy, and Key regional account calls. Region Sales Managers will be responsible for building & maintaining the company’s relationships with its distributors and key accounts, as well as their entire sales team. THE EVERYDAY VIEW

  • Effectively run all business aspects of the assigned region including personnel, distribution network, and chain account needs.
  • Maintain relationships with existing Key Regional accounts
  • Assist in building account lists for members of the assigned sales team
  • Set and maintain pricing for all wholesale operations in their assigned region
  • Travel to work with sales team members for coaching and feedback opportunities

Work directly with the Sales team they manage to set goals, assist with structure and strategy, and set clear and concise performance expectations. * Attend weekly meetings with the VP of Sales for information and planning

  • Assist with communication and execution of Chain programming and new item placements within their market
  • Coordinate communications sales team and operations/production department

Relaying all pertinent and relevant information to their direct reports in a timely and efficient manner. * Interface with consumers and accounts as a representative of the brand and ensure the sales team knows how to properly represent the brand

  • Organize off-site educational opportunities for your team, following through with extended sales training
  • Maintain & disseminate deep knowledge of Modern Times brands
  • Aid distributors in resolving issues surrounding OOS products
  • Assist the Modern Times team as needed with special projects and other tasks requiring an “all hands on deck” type of collaboration
  • Be a team player and able to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Adhere to and enforce all applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations
  • Other tasks as needed, once discussed and agreed uponTHE MANAGEMENT VIEW
  • Lead in the hiring, onboarding, training, and development of all team members
  • Demonstrate effective and timely communication (written and verbal) with direct employees, customers, outside vendors, and all other Modern Times personnel to establish the best possible relationships
  • Respond to and be an active participant in projects and requests from all Modern Times departments/divisions regarding the Assigned territory area Account Specialists and Sales Wizards and its associated personnel
  • Keep the Director of Sales promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events) and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action
  • Responsible for submitting and approving payroll of any hourly reports by deadlines established by the People Operations team
  • Responsible for upholding top talent standards within your team by
  • o Guiding, mediating, and properly documenting employee issues, disputes, or performance problems
  • o Regularly evaluate employees on skills and behavior and offer proper feedback and documentation
  • o Working with upper management and People Operations to terminate employees when applicable

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
  • Able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check, and driving record check
  • LEAD certification required
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in craft beer sales, with proven results required
  • Minimum 5 years of people management experience, 3 years with teams greater than 4
  • Proven positive effectiveness as a leader required
  • Residence in this role’s assigned territory required
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and CRM data skills required
  • Very strong organizational and communications skills, iron-clad reliability, and consistent follow-up required
  • Able to stay focused and remain extremely productive while working in the field without direct supervision
  • Knowledge of wholesale distribution and operations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a love for meeting and interacting with people
  • Thorough attention to detail and desire to take initiative
  • Must adhere to company’s policies and procedures
  • The desire to work in a fast-paced, growing company

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Up to 75% travel time may be required

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to be active for prolonged periods
  • Able to stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs
  • Able to regularly lift/carry 44-pound boxes
  • Able to regularly twist, turn, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, crawl, lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds using appropriate techniques and tools
  • Able to lift/move 165 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
  • Able to drive, stand, walk, kneel, lift and bend required for virtually the entire shift
  • Able to balance – pulling product, climb in and out of the truck
  • Able to both work and thrive in a high-stress environment that has a quiet to moderate noise level
  • Able to read and follow written English instructions
  • Able to safely navigate the tasting room and snack bar areas, including crowded spaces
  • Able to work in a factory/production environment that may be loud, slick, humid, cold, and hot
  • Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise and occasionally slippery floors
  • Able to comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards
