Quality Assurance Manager

Maple Media is seeking a new addition to our QA team in Los Angeles to test products across our portfolio of mobile games and apps. This role will have a high impact in the organization, including helping test and ship key apps and games in our portfolio with tens of millions of users. As a QA Manager, you’ll work closely with our product team, support team, and iOS, Android and Unity engineers to ensure we ship products that our users love. 

Job Responsibilities:


  • Source, recruit, train and manage great testers. 
  • Define the standard for Maple Media’s mobile testing capability. 
  • Build communication and operational processes between QA Testers, development and production teams.  
  • Create efficient plans, assignments, and schedules for the QA team. 
  • Manage overall team performance. 
  • Track, evaluate, and report on project progress. 
  • Proactively and consistently evaluate testing process and efficiencies. 
  • Ensure that QA Team meets deadlines and performs at the highest level of quality possible. 
  • Motivate and train QA team members, creating a collaborative environment.
  • Manually test and review core functionality and ad tech of all app and game releases that we ship, capturing key bugs and issues in JIRA and greenlighting builds for release
  • Perform regression testing and verify bug fixes, in collaboration with engineering, product and support
  • Deeply and rigorously play-test games and use apps in-development to find bugs, issues, and refinement opportunities prior to release
  • Build test cases for a variety of apps, including core test case documentation
  • Introduce documentation, automation and scale into our QA program
  • Join development meetings and work directly with iOS, Android and Unity developers

Candidate Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree required, preferably in related field
  • 3-5 years experience in QA, Play Testing or Customer Support at a mobile app, gaming, or other software company
  • Familiar with Charles Proxy and working with Ad Tech and App Store IAP
  • Knowledge of software development, QA methodologies & release process
  • A passion for process and excellence, building a QA team from the ground up 
  • Mobile QA experience managing QA testers through an app cycle 
  • Shipped multiple mobile titles. 
  • Experience with 1st Party and mobile submission requirements. 
  • Experience with internal and external development teams. 
  • Extensive experience with development planning tools (i.e. Jira, Confluence, etc.) 
  • Focus on QA personnel career development. 
  • Strong critical-thinking, organization, time management and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to multitask under severe deadlines 
  • Work in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent shift in focus
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for mobile app and games, familiarity with Android, iOS, GSuite (Google Docs, Google Sheets), Windows, Mac OS, Slack and JIRA
