Summary of Job: Los Angeles-based nutritional supplement company seeks Quality Assurance Manager to provide scientific and technical support for the internal dietary supplement Quality program.
The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the internal Quality system and where necessary implement additional Quality systems in the department.
The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee revision control of formulas, labels, and packaging and assist with implementing new regulations through the corporate standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities: Incorporates changes to specifications and maintains documentation.
Assist in creating new or revised formula specifications, finished good specifications, and Engineering Change Order documents.
Creates and maintains a Quality Supplier Review database that tracks the individual performance of suppliers based on the number of non-conformances generated.
Create, review and approve SOPs, protocols, and test plans.
Assist with the implementation of new procedures as well as provide training and education as required by the Dietary Supplement regulations.
Maintains the document control system for all quality records within the Technical Affairs department including Engineering Change Order documents.
Review laboratory results and finished product records to ensure that they are in accordance with GMP and company requirements.
Assist with conducting contract manufacturing audits.
Participates in auditing internal documents and departments.
Assist in performing document and data review for material and components and finished product.
Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned.
Performs detailed review of product formula confirming the accuracy of all formula calculation and raw material ingredients including excipients.
Prepare the company Quality plan with relevant internal stakeholders.
Requirements: 5 years direct experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Must have the ability to prepare and present technical information relating to the Quality of products to different levels of management.
Must have experience with document control.
Must possess strong written and verbal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must have experience preparing Excel spreadsheets.
Must have attention to detail.
Education: BS in Scientific disciplines such as Biology or Chemistry or Food Science.
Desired Qualifications: Masters’ Degree in Scientific discipline is preferred.
Experience in a dietary supplement manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience with managing projects of different complexities.
