JOB TITLE: Estimator / Project Manager
Location: Santa Clarita, California
Responsibilities:
· Civil Engineering estimating and project management of earthwork, earth-retention shoring systems, deep foundations, and ground improvement projects.
· Perform site visits to evaluate site conditions and construction logistics.
· Execute project pre-qualifications as required.
· Clear understanding of project plans & drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
· Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
· Perform quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and bid proposals & budgets.
· Perform Design-Build calculation and modeling.
· Review and assist in negotiating construction scope of work sheets and contracts.
· Prepare project submittals, RFI’s and schedules.
· Procurement and scheduling of specialty equipment and required materials.
· Work with field superintendents and foreman to help manage project quality control and cost management.
· Prepare project draft billings and change orders.
· Provide project as-built drawings and required close out paperwork.
· Establish and maintain a good working relationship with clients and ownership.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
· 3+ years of related experience in civil or geotechnical engineering.
· Project management: 2 years (Preferred).
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Proficiency in using project management software and tools, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Preferred experience with AutoCAD of Agtek.
· Good mathematical and analytical capabilities.
· Basic understanding of construction means and methods.
· Ability to travel to various job sites.
· Valid Driver’s License.
