Project Manager/Estimator

Job Description
Several new openings/locations: Phoenix, AZ – Irvine, CA – Los Angeles, CA – San Diego, CA – Minneapolis, MN
Seeking experienced Project Manager/Estimator with a construction type degree, for a growing drywall, painting, plastering and acoustical subcontractor company. This position would provide management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating subcontractors, installers, vendors, materials and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Develop a cost effective plan, budget and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for resource utilization.

  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Estimating and scheduling as required
  • Coordinate purchase order issuance with accounting department
  • Client relationship management
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Develop full scale project plans
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff
  • Manage project budget
  • Manage project resource allocation
  • Plan and schedule project timelines
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Provide direction and support to project team
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the projects to all executives
  • Implement and manage project changes and intervene to achieve project outputs- Approve supplier invoices related to a project-
  • Review the approved time sheets for work related to the project
  • Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
  • Report on project profitability to management
  • Create or approve all project-related billings to customers
  • Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required
  • Ordering Materials

Qualifications:

  • Minimum construction type 4 year degree**
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to apply best practices and to contribute to continual improvement initiatives
  • Problem solving and prioritization abilities to focus on core deliverables to keep projects on track
  • Strong & Solid Project Management Skills, with certified project management accreditation being preferred
  • Expert Microsoft Project skills
  • Exceptional organization, meeting management and presentation skills
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft product families
  • Experience in Tracking Project Financials — estimation, budgeting, tracking, cost
