We are seeking to hire a full-time Practice Plan Manager to jointhe Neuropsychiatric Behavioral Health Services Practice Plan (NPBHS outpatientcare program). You will maintain an efficient ambulatory care clinic and managecare infrastructure that allows for patient focused, high quality service,consistent with the mission of the Department of Psychiatry. Primary dutiesinclude:
- Provide daily administrative and operational oversight and physical space management
- Manage administrative support staff (approximately 20 FTE’s)
- Identify, develop, implement, and monitor viable internal operating systems and procedures related to administrative, clinical, and financial operations
- Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and other administrative staff to resolve issues, problems, and concerns
- Supervisory experience, including experience in hiring, training, directing and evaluating staff
- Minimum 5-8 years of clinical management experience
- Bachelors degree, (strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of faculty academic appointments and credentialing and privileging process
- Ability to interact appropriately and congenially with staff, faculty, students, patients and public at all times
- Ability to speak clearly and distinctly to obtain and convey information to individuals at all organizational levels
- Knowledge of psychiatric operations and basic psychological and medical terminology
- Writing skills sufficient to compose and/or edit correspondence and reports using appropriate grammar, spelling punctuation and syntax.
- Ability to track and ensure billing is completed and accurate
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-cal guidelines, CPT/ICD coding and insurance and contracting terminology
- Skill in organizing and maintaining accurate records and operational systems
- Ability to use a PC and associated operating systems
- Knowledge of Hospital and University policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and support HIPPA requirements
- Ability to maintain equanimity in the face of resistance, indifference and hostility
