Job Details: CONTRACTS MANAGER

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

City National Bank is looking for a Contracts Manager to join their centralized Procurement department, supporting City National Bank business lines and offices in North America. This individual contributor will be responsible for the department’s contract administration and analysis, serving as the subject matter expert. Will review and research contracts for key terms and conditions and perform research to gather market intelligence. The Contract Manager will ensure the integrity of the contracts database, manage the Workflow tool and document policy and process for Procurement’s systems. This position will also support Sourcing and Category Management as well as support and assist users of Procurement’s systems. This position may be asked to perform duties as a team lead.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Responsible for contract administration activities and is the Subject Matter Expert on the department’s contracts repository.
  • Review and research contracts for key terms & conditions such as expiration date and summarize key deal terms.
  • Perform research to gather market intelligence.
  • Measures KPIs (key performance indicators) using sourcing project list to team assess capacity, compliance with company policy, Procurement service levels, etc.
  • Responsible for the integrity of the contracts database and the corresponding meta-data.
  • Support design and execution of contract management system in collaboration with Legal and others to track contract activity and approvals.
  • Manage Procurement’s Workflow tool.
  • Works with Procurement’s Leadership Team to assign Sourcing projects in the tool.
  • Develops and maintains processes for the contracts management and procurement workflow process.
  • Administrators contract signature (e-Signature) process.
  • Administrator for procurement contract signature system.
  • Document Policy & Process for Procurement’s Systems and processes
  • Provide internal Help and Support to colleagues using Procurement’s systems. Reviews and assesses current department processes, creates recommendation and works with Procurement to successfully implement adopted ideas.
  • Works with Sourcing to execute RFX administration throughout the strategic sourcing process,
  • Support Sourcing Leads, contract negotiation teams, and internal bank customers with Contract Requests and procurement projects.
  • Document Policy & Process for Procurement’s Systems and processes
  • Provide internal Help and Support to colleagues using Procurement’s systems.
  • Administer Non-Disclosure Agreements and other contract templates.
  • Negotiate and draft low to medium risk contracts.
  • Mentor Contract Specialists. May perform duties as a team lead.
  • Perform other duties as required.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*

  • Associate’s Degree
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Procurement or Purchasing required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of contracts, database, and workflow tools required
  • Must be knowledgeable with Procure to Pay (“P2P”) processes and systems
  • Experience and skills in contract analysis, workload management, documentation, change management, process documentation required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Must have skills in Teamwork and Collaboration: Generates the best outcomes through collaboration (business, Legal, compliance, etc.). Values colleagues’ individual differences and talents. Shares important or relevant information with the team to ensure solutions meets the needs of the bank. Works collaboratively in a team.
  • Must have attention to details. Thoroughness in completing a task/analysis/project with concern for all elements required at every level.
  • Must be able to deliver consistently high performance
  • Experience negotiating and drafting low risk contracts and the ability to grow skills in negotiation and drafting required.
  • Must have skills in Critical Thinking: Thinks systematically and strategically to analyze issues, develop and create short and long term actionable plans. Considers details and sees the big picture. Sees around the corners to preempt potential problems and leverage opportunities; connects multiple seemingly unrelated problems to the big picture.
  • Ideal candidate will be able to innovate: Continually develops a better understanding of current and future challenges and opportunities,
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in in Procurement, Contract Administration, military supply logistics or paralegal preferred
