ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for oversight of all operations, warehouse and production activities on a daily basis. The Operations Supervisor promotes a culture of food and general safety and ensures efficient and safe use of equipment. The Supervisor is also responsible for maintenance and care of all processing, packing, and warehouse equipment, ensuring timely scheduling and completion of preventative maintenance and safety assessment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Warehouse Operations: Responsible for the daily execution and completion of the production schedule for all production areas. Ensure QA checks are being performed correctly and report any issues to the Manager immediately. Work closely with other Operations and Inventory Control team members to ensure high quality communication and collaboration. Regularly maintain department reports in NAVISION; work with team members to audit own work. Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
Safety & Compliance: Plan, supervise and participate in the maintenance of a safe and sanitary work area at all times. Provide training and general direction to ensure compliance with chemical use, equipment use, and Standard Operating Procedures. Make sure all staff or volunteers are following food safety guidelines and workplace safety rules and report any accidents or safety issues to the Warehouse Manager immediately. Ensure that forklift drivers are performing their daily inspections, keeping their lifts clean and handling pallets of product in a safe and efficient manner and preventing damage or loss.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum High School diploma, some college or other additional education/training preferred.
* Minimum six (6) years’ experience in food processing, food distribution, or similar manufacturing environment, with two (2) or more years’ in supervisor capacity. Two years’ experience with AIB, HACCP, GMP, required.
* Ability to supervise others and work with minimum supervision.
* Complete knowledge of warehousing, sanitation and food and general safety practices and procedures.
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills, possesses the ability to develop and implement strategic plans based on data analysis and development.
* Knowledge of general food safety requirements, auditing requirements, inspections, etc.
* Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills along with the ability to provide clear and concise details regarding cause and effect, both verbally and written. Prefer bilingual English/Spanish
* Good computer skills in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word and Google Docs platform
* Knowledge of forklift and pallet jack (manual & electrical) maintenance and safety procedures.
